Saleh Alghannam Professor: Jessica Kontelis Composition II 04/07/2015 The Dark Knight (2008) Director: Christopher Nolan Cast: Christian Bale, heath Ledger, Morgan Freemen, and Aaron Eckhart The Dark Knight is a blockbuster. Christian Bale stars as a millionaire (Bruce Wayne) and a superhero (Batman). When the joker (Heat Ledger) disrupts Gotham city and troubles citizens of the city, Batmen comes in to fight against the chaos caused. This movie filled with action, thrill, adventure and science fiction. This is a must watch movie for children and adults. This movie is impressive in many ways, and Christopher Nolan has directed very well. It is short and brilliant. The story of this movie focuses on current issues of terrorism and economic collapse. It is a comic book hero movie with a message. The character of Heath Ledger is really amazing. The actor has done at his best to play the role of the joker. The center of attraction of the movie is the character of joker and his famous line, “Why so serious?” The movie grips its audience for the beginning to the end. The bank-robbing scene at the beginning of the movie is very intelligent. Jails and hospital blow up scene is impressive. The action in this movie is excellent and thrilling. It makes audience feel that this could happen in real life also. The cameras used for shooting this movie are really good. This movie meets all the expectations; it is a perfectly done movie. Christopher Nolan is above average director. I believe watching this movie would disappoint nobody, I believe this is the best adaptation of batman comic book ever and a must watch movie for everybody. The Dark Knight (2008) Director: Christopher Nolan Cast: Christian Bale, heath Ledger, Morgan Freemen, and Aaron Eckhart The dark knight is a overrated movie. There are many flaws in this movie and I font believe why is this so overrated. The movie lacks humor. The sound is not well balanced. The length of the movie is an issue and also the script. The movie is not for all. The dark knight lacks sense of humor. The movie has action sounds so loud that it makes dialogues inaudible. No doubt the action in the movie and the effects are good but I believe action is overly done. Every 5 minutes there is a action scene. I believe after watching the first half, the second half feels boring. The action in entire movie can give headache. Batman is a comic character in children’s book but, I believe this movie is not for children as there is too much crime in the movie. The focus in this movie is not on the main character Batman but it’s on the Joker. The length of the movie is over two and a half hours and this becomes in tolerable after second half. The Audience tends to lose grip of the movie in second half. There is no humor in this movie. The only humorous scene is when joker magically makes a pencil disappear into somebody’s head. I believe some more humor could have made this movie a bit interesting. It is difficult to follow the script of the movie. The character of Batman is for children, but the movies might be disturbing for children because of violence. MEMO: The Dark Knight (2008) Things that changed my point of view about the movie: Batman is children’s comic book character, but the violence in the movie is disturbing for children. Movie is no doubt an action film but there is too much of action in the movie that may cause headache. When I tried to listen to the dialogues, they were inaudible as the sound of action was more than the spoken words. The focus was n batman, when I ask friends about the movie; they just talk about the character of Joker and not the batman.
