and Management
Full Day Tutorial @ University of Central Florida: Thursday, July 30, 2009, 8:30 – 5:00
Systems Engineering Development and Management Technology Training (Limited to 30 attendees)
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: This hands-on tutorial begins with high-level requirements development in DOORS
with the tight governance and trace-to-change requests for those requirements managed by ClearQuest. The
governance of requirements changes and the traceability of those changes would be provided by the DoorKeeper
for ClearQuest.
A high-level SysML model comprised of several packages will be maintained in separate files to demonstrate
management of the model using ClearCase (configuration management system) and engineering change requests
to the model through ClearQuest. This will illustrate tool power to manage large teams (e,g, IPTs) that may have
ITAR or EAR restrictions or other 3rd party proprietary access restrictions.
Using the SysML model we will create traceability from the model artifacts to the requirements in DOORS and
synchronize these as we make changes. This exercise will be done using DOORS and the DoorKeeper. More detail
in the SysML model will be filled in to create behaviors and allocate them to the structure created from the exercise.
This provides a foundation to simulate the model to show some problems missed during requirements
development phase.

Honeywell. There she helped develop and deploy Six Sigma to System and Software
Engineers and develop a CMMI deployment strategy. Paula was also the Honeywell
representative on industry organizations like SAE, helping to create standards for
deliverable software and software quality. While at Honeywell she led a corporate initiative to
standardize on a Model Driven Architecture utilizing Mathlab/Simulink for Systems Engineering Processes.

Custom Software Solutions division of EmbeddedPlus Engineering whose customers include Boeing, Lockheed
Martin, and Northrop Grumman. Robert brings over 25-years experience to his
customers in all areas of software construction, building everything from numerical
analysis packages and IT applications to safety critical embedded software for propulsion
systems. Robert’s experience also has encompassed several roles from Project Manager
and Lead Developer to Verification Engineer. Additionally, Robert participated in the
Software Engineering Institute’s pilot to develop the type B and C Standard Capability
Maturity Model – Integrated (CMMI) Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (a.k.a.
CMMI SCAMPI B/C) where he became a candidate Lead CMMI Appraiser. Robert enjoys
helping customers use modeling, project management, configuration and change
management, and requirements management tools along with an appropriate amount of process to reduce the cost
