Even if a person's gender is ambiguous or fails to fit into one of only two categories, this is not a legitimate reason to refuse her the fundamental right to marry. 47 An intersex person should be able to self-designate - courts should not be able to assign her a sexual identity. This would allow an intersex individual to marry either a man or a woman.248 If this person can marry either a man or a woman, equal protection demands that other, similarly situated individuals must be able to do the same.249 If so, then why retain any "opposite sex" requirement on marriage at all? The sex criterion for determining a legal marriage should be eliminated. Assignment #2 Christian Wedding Ceremony Evaluation & Reflection Students will perform a Christian wedding in class for evaluation. A handout will be distributed during class, prepare for the class with this evaluation form. Students will also read the following article http://www.fbcw.org/am_cms_media/premarital_questionaire.pdf and the 5 part premarital counseling articles and write a 3 to 5 page reflection paper.
