Development Project – MAJOR GRADE
Directions: You work for a candy company (i.e. Ghirardelli, Hershey’s, Haribo, Kraft, Nestle,
etc.). Your job is to do some research, identify an unfulfilled need or an untapped market, and
create a new candy bar. In groups of no more than 3, you are to complete a(n):

Survey –Create a survey (sample provided) and interview at least 5 people. Use this
information to determine what type of candy people want and who your target market is.
Ask questions specific to their candy preferences, price sensitivity, and demographics (age,
gender, etc.). All surveys must be turned in with the project. DAILY GRADE
SWOT Analysis – Discuss as a group your favorite candy bar; determine who makes/owns that
product. Complete a SWOT analysis of that company. Identify at least 3 strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for that company. DAILY GRADE
Brand Name/Logo/Slogan/Advertisement – Come up with a name, logo, and slogan for your
candy bar. Create an advertisement for it. DAILY GRADE
Presentation – create a 10-slide Power Point with the following information: DAILY GRADE

 HQ location, Number of Employees, Annual Revenue, Top Selling Products
 Survey Results
 Number of responses, Ages and gender of respondents
 Chocolate buying habits, Chocolate preferences
