WHAT YOU’LL NEED - BA/BS degree - Mechanical or Aerospace / Aviation Engineering - 4+ yrs experience in AEROSPACE CARGO HANDLING / INTERIORS HARDWARE or SYSTEMS ENGINEERING role such as customer support engineering, design engineering, or equivalent….providing TECHNICAL SUPPORT and PROBLEM SOLVING - Experience in component and system level TROUBLESHOOTING, ROOT CAUSE investigations, FAULT TREE analysis, and RISK analysis methods - Experience investigating airline cargo handling or related SYSTEM PROBLEM REPORTS. Experience identifying system and component issues and escalate to Engineering to drive timely resolution. - Able to conduct MAINTENANCE training for airline and maintenance shop personnel. - First shift… but must be able to work off hours and holidays as required by business and customer needs. Occasional domestic or foreign travel may be required for field incident investigations, system training and safety - Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills (internal and external customers). - Demonstrated product and organization knowledge. - Ability to identify and complete standard tasks with little or no direction. Must be self-motivated. - Demonstrated ability to quickly obtain working knowledge of customer processes and protocols which includes coordination of customer (e.g., OEM and airline) communications and engineering changes. - Recognized as reliable and accurate source of customer information with aftermarket services support with full logistics understanding. - Resource to others for searching and reporting knowledge of customer processes and potential customer issues. - Strong understanding of contracts and technical requirements. - Ability to understand and bridge cultural differences between company, OEM’s and airline customer companies. - Intermediate computer skills and with demonstrated ability to create basic spreadsheets in Excel, presentations in PowerPoint, write business correspondence in Word, and manage e-mail, and schedule meetings in Outlook. - Ability to maintain composure and work analytically in a high stress environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO – Sr. Service Engineer required for our Aerospace Cargo facility. This role will have the following responsibilities: - Provide technical support and problem solving for Interiors cargo handling systems. - Investigate airline cargo handling system problem reports. Identify system and component issues and escalate to Cargo Systems Engineering to drive timely resolution. - Support technical problem analysis (relentless root cause identification and implementation of corrective actions). - Create product service documentation (eg Service Bulletins, Service Information Letters). - Conduct maintenance training for airline and maintenance shop personnel. 22 | P a g e - Gather and report component reliability data. - Provide warranty claim support by investigating claims. - Support airline account manager and sales teams. - Responsible for establishing and maintaining productive relationships with OEM Field Service Engineering groups in order to effectively collaborate in accordance with contractual requirements and protocols. - Provide engineering support to the global network of service centers (global Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) centers). - Act as a key safety advocate for Interiors Cargo Handling Systems business.
