KEY FOCUS: LITERACY KEY FOCUS: SCIENCE In science this term we are learning all about Habitats. We will closely focus on the desert but will look at other habitats too. PE: This term we will be focussing on Athletics and the sports day and Athletics Tournaments will take place during Terms 5 and 6 Science: We will be looking at Habitats linking to the Desert but touching on other Habitats. We will also look at adaptation, food chains and language such as prey, predator. Music- We will be looking at moods and movies- which is a scheme that takes a movie and gets the children to explore the moods it creates at different points. Art- we are going to look at Andy Warhol- pop art and Portraits. You are on an expedition in the Sahara desert. You have just come across a new creature. Your project homework is to design the creature and write Write about it, e.g. Where did you find it, what does it look like, What does it smell like? How will it survive the Sahara Desert? How will it adapt to the environment? Think about food chains, predators and prey. Design a food chain to go with your project. This project is open to your imagination. I would like to see some writing. But I am happy if you would like to use the computer for part of this project. Due 20th May 2015 MATHS In Maths this term we will start with converting measures, angles, line lengths and symmetry. We will work on decimals and their relationship with fractions. This time of year will be optional SATS again where the children will undergo Literacy, Reading and Writing SATS. The final week of Maths will finish on decimal numbers.
