3. Main function of job (Note: in addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required)
To lead the Finance Team within the charity, providing integrity in the financial processes, systems and reporting at the Lullaby Trust, so as to enable effective decision making, ensuring the utilisation of funds in a manner consistent with the charity’s objectives. To be a part of the charity’s Senior Management Team, contributing to the overall leadership of the charity.

4. Main duties (brief description)
Duties/Responsibilities
Financial Management
Ensure financial management development and direction of the organisation.
Reconciliation of all major balance sheet accounts and revenue reporting between systems.
Oversee transactional input of income and expenditure transactions
Monitor and manage the financial performance of the organisation including production of finance reports for quarterly Board Meetings , The Lullaby Trust
Sales Ltd; and monthly management accounts
Administer payroll, pension and benefits procedures and production
Supporting the Finance and Resource Committee provision of relevant papers and attendance at meetings
Development and implementation of financial systems and procedures to ensure best practice and adherence to all applicable accounting standards.
Prepare statutory annual accounts in accordance with Charity and Company law.
Working with CEO Senior Management Team and Chair of Finance and Resources
Committee to prepare, present and implement the annual budgets and half yearly reforecast
Provision of all necessary information, analysis and assistance to the organisations’ auditors in order to achieve clean annual audits and maintenance of relationships with other professional advisors, such as insurance brokers and bankers.
Act as Company Secretary to the charity and the Sales company and ensure compliance with all financial statutory reporting and filing according to HMRC,
Companies House, The Charity Commission and any other relevant bodies.
Exercise due diligence in respect of financial regulations; internal and external audit recommendations and ensure that control systems are properly implemented to safeguard assets
Ad hoc projects as directed by the CEO
Line Management
To line manage and supervise the Finance Assistant (full time post).
Corporate responsibilities
Member of Senior Management Team (SMT), contributing to corporate decision making
Provide support to CEO and SMT on all financial and relevant general management and corporate matters as they arise
Provide support and advice to CEO and other Senior Management Team members on all financial and relevant general management and corporate matters as they arise.

Qualifications/education and experience required:
A qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or experienced part qualified accountant
E
E Have experience in a managerial finance role, ideally in an SME, not-for-profit organisation or charity
Experience of Sage Line 50
Experience of Raisers Edge or similar fundraising system
Competencies required:
Knowledge of several finance systems and quick to learn new ones
Commercial approach
Knowledge of charity accounts and related SORP
Experience of charitable governance processes
High level of initiative and the ability to work unassisted to complete the finance function and month end tasks.
Must be a self-starter who is comfortable with a high level of responsibility.
Effective communication skills – both written and oral.
Experience of supervision and line management of staff/volunteers
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in SMT and with senior trustees of the charity
Ability to interpret and analyse financial reports and write commentary
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong reconciliation skills
A high level of numeracy and accuracy
Methodical, systematic approach to ensure consistent production of monthly reports and work papers
Eye for detail

The post is for 35 hours a week and will be based in our Head
Office in central London.
