ORIGINS
Founded by Major Patrick E. McPherson, WW9E, in 1988.
First SATERN Net in June, 1988.
First International response by the SATERN Net was for Hurricane
Gilbert in September of 1988.
SATERN now has many different nets – both SSB and digital - on
various HF, VHF and UHF bands.
