1 Fabien Luboya ENG 1010 DR Greenwell August 01, 2015 The black Market Black Market is such a wide and huge activity that tends to become uncontrollable for the government. The way the black market is being used or practiced changes from a country to another. Developed countries really care about the black market because they know the consequences and how it can affect the economy of the country, so they have to take strict action about it and try to make it disappear. In contrast, countries that are not really developed don’t have choices sometimes about the decision to make toward the black market for the fear to affect their economy. The black Market is such a strong activity, the people involved in the black market wants to receive freedom from laws and taxes from their government. I was been working in business in the past 3 years, and it was sometimes difficult to sold some items at the price they should be sold because of the black market. In a country where the population is not really respecting the laws, the black market is a really big deal. The black Market is an underground organization where illegal activities and products can be traded for an untraceable and un-taxable currency. Although government and population are against the black market, it should not stop to exist. 1 2 The black market was created to facilitate poor people who could not pay taxes to at least have something for the nourishment of their families. But little by little the black market started to develop and become countries’ problems, and an international system where even people that got a lot of money started to use it because of taxes. The main cause of the existence of the black market was poverty, which made people sell small quantities of stuff in the road, making a quick sale without paying taxes and being recognized by the government. But today the black market has an unbelievable popularity, and we can find everyone in there, business people, small gas stations, government, drugs dealers, almost everyone. Some people are practicing it without knowing that they are doing a black market. Consequently, it becomes difficult to stop the black market. The black market in social life tends to affect a lot of people. For development of a society, there must be laws that are respected by everyone and a government that has to make sure that the laws are being followed. The black market in many countries makes people poor and some enterprises are closing because of the black market. How can a society develop while the government is ignoring the big part of the issue? People will still need money, jobs so that they can get a good salary and work that is insured and recognized by the government. The black market is against society’s growth (Farvish). If we think a little bit about the Congo which is a very resources rich country but still not developed because the government’s organization. Instead of building the country build their own pockets, we will find a lot of black market that is private property of government members, Although There’re also crimes in the market, those crimes are not about killing people, they’re about killing people’s business. Someone can have a little 2 3 store and he is paying taxes and meeting the entire requirement, but another person is just selling things without having a legal permit, always sell products cheaper and that affects those who are paying taxes. For instance candy’s original price is 2.99 dollars but because of the taxes and other insurance the seller is obliged to sell it at the price of 3.5 or 4 dollars, and you will find the some candy being sold for only 2 dollars by someone who is using the black market. That is killing the honest people’s business, because people will not be buying their products. Because it’s true that the black market is a crime, it’s also encourages drugs sellers, and most of the drugs and prohibited things are being sold in the black market. The black market also help a lot of people, no one want to be or stay poor but it is not easy for everyone to become rich that why some people are using the black market, not because they want to but just because they have, and they got family to get food for. So the black market should not being seen as an activity that should be stopped. Drugs are one of the most prevalent activities in the black market, and drugs are difficult to get hold of. Frequently this gives an alternative and financially inflated option for people desperate for these things. The majority of the populations involved in these types of transactions are criminals who are looking to hide from the restrictions of taxes and other rules assigned by the law, but there are some of us who may have engaged in the black Market activity without considering it, as such purchasing medication from a friend who was prescribed it, but hasn’t used it. We see this with people here who don’t have health insurance but have incurred an injury (Jaros) I’m sure that illegal means Black Market. Sometimes the things that are illegal are those that people practice a lot and are sometimes the ones make people rich, I know that there’re drugs enterprise hidden in the 3 4 U.S that use to provides illegal drugs to customers, and those enterprise are getting rich because they don’t pay taxes and they are free to sell what they want to sell. Black market is a crime of under invoicing (Wiengand) For instance, purchasing after market tickets from a street vendor outside of the stadium of your favorite team’s stadium it’s illegal there are no checks and balances. People are doing that because it’s less expensive than the ticket they are buying at the front door. Not everyone got the money to buy the ticket at it original price, but everyone want to enjoy the game, and that makes them think about the after market so they can get it at a reasonable price. Now, the reason that this creates so many issues especially in developing countries is that because activities in these countries are very considered by government. Everyone have to pay taxes and be recognized by the government. But not everybody got the money to pay taxes, and government should be less strict with poor about taxes. That is why we will find hidden market selling product without being recognized by government. If you are sold some sort of medication and It ends up being laced with something and causes complications to buy products legally, you have no other way than thinking about the black market to get justice. And the risk of dealing with such a market is that Young people will be buying products that they are not suppose to buy at their age. In developed, just as sub-developed countries, the black market has always been at one side supported and practiced by government members. Behind most of black markets and drug deals there is always a hero in the shadows, which is most likely a person working for the government (Inside The Black Market). They used to pretend being against the black market, but in reality there are not. They also have their own business going on because of the black market. Government members who have to make 4 5 law are those who are favoring fraud, and the uses of illegal product, the politics in the black market are simple to understand. Those people working for the government and who gather taxes don’t want to pay their own taxes, and they create their black market where there are people working for them. All the time there is a taxe problem with that market, they will be there to defend and give tangible reasons for that market to exist. By doing that they are penalizing other markets that are following the law. The fight against poverty should start with a fight against those people who are facilitating the black market to grow and exist. The poverty of a country will totally finish when government members will be able by themselves to take their responsibilities and be able to respect the law. The black market should exist because it’s helping everybody even the government, and it’s very helpful for people who can’t afford taxes and other insurance, if it’s stopped some people will die with poverty and who need something can’t get something. Many people think that the black market is being ignored and government can’t do anything about it. I’m not sure that if the government makes a final strict decision all those black market will exist. The problem is that sometimes it’s difficult for the government to make decisions about the black market because the government is also included in the black market and it gives them money, and making a circulation of the money in the country. That why sometimes government just keeps silence and says nothing, because leaders don’t want make decision that may brake the country’s economy or their pocket. I don’t think it is necessary to eliminate the black market because those who are not able to pay taxes will be suffering. 5 6 The black market are industries that will continue due to the fact that radicals as well as the simple people looking for an option to receive in our law-abiding community the freedom of axe’s law will always answer to the need of populations even if some are against. I hope for many countries to make stronger repercussions for such behavior so that we can lessen the activity. I would hope that we could even just begin with eliminating the human element from the market or just create a law for the Black Market. And sometimes it’s affecting businesses, people and, the country. At this time what we can do is modify the general business, trying to facilitate everyone so that there would not people making other people poor. 6 7 Work Cited Farvish, Celia.
