Diacare - Diabetes and Hormone Clinic
Assistant Diabetologist, May 2012 till today.
Started career as a medical officerunder Dr. Banshi Saboo, Diabetologist and
Endocrinologist at Diacare – Diabetes and Hormone Clinic, a centre of excellence
recognized by Indian academy of Diabetes at Ahmedabad, Gujarat/ India in May 2012.
Promoted to Associate Consultant at Diacare – Diabetes and Hormone Clinic, a
centre of excellence recognized by Indian Academy of Diabetes at Ahmedabad, Gujarat/
India in November 2012, ongoing.
Project Head for type 1 Diabetes in children in CDIC- Changing Diabetes In
Children, program since January 2013. Actively involved in the activities of LFAC- Life For
A Child program since July 2014.
Became a part of the SWEET Group to gain more knowledge and experience
regarding care of diabetic kids,April 2014.
JOB PROFILE:
1. Serving as a doctor for an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
2. Taking medical History of the patients, physical examination, vital signs for OPD
patients, making an effective plan of management and treatment.
3. Performing various diagnostic tests- ECG, TMT,Vibrotherm test, Biothesiometry,
Central Arterial Pressure, etc.
4. Educating the patients for the using devices like insulin syringes, insulin pens,
glucometers, insulin pumps,Continuous Glucose Monitoring device, etc.
5. I have more than 20 patients who are on insulin pump under my care. I have
organized various camps for insulin pump education.
6. Educating and counseling the patients regarding Diabetes and its complications and
its Prevention.
7. Advising the patients the importance of Self Monitoring of blood Glucose (SMBG),
and teaching them to treat acute complications of Diabetes.
8. Educating patients to prevent hyper-hypoglycemic events.
9. Counseling for lifestyle modification and Healthy diet and regular exercise.
10. Treating of patients with Diabetic ketoacidosis on OPD –IPD basis.
11. Working on projects related to type 1 -2 DM and other metabolic disorders.
12. Weekly in-house monitoring of all clinical research projects of type 1 and type 2 DM.
13. Attending to minor procedures relating to Diabetic Foot complications namely
dressing and debridement of the wound.
14. Treating GDM- gestational diabetes mellitus, PCOS, and thyroid related disorders
effectively.
