Please note: Purchasing shoes through the team is not required. However, all players will need basketball shoes in
order to participate. These shoes are selected for their proven durability and quality ankle/foot support. Our team’s
relationship with the supplier allows us to offer them to the players at a price that is unbeatable for this level of
footwear.
We do offer a fundraiser to help offset some or all of the cost of the shoes. Please see the Marianna’s Fundraiser
included in your packet. Players will receive $0.75 towards their team shoes for each item sold.

Important: Shoes will not be ordered until after conditioning is completed (order placed after November 14). The
booster club will write one check for the team’s shoe order. After shoes have been ordered, Parents/Player will pay the
booster club (Checks made out to BABBBC) for the cost of players shoes (will be notified of final cost once order is placed.)
Shoes will arrive before the season begins, but each player will not receive his shoes until the booster club has been
reimbursed for the cost of the shoes.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1. Coaches will use several means of communication to get in touch with players and parents to
remind them of important dates or notify players and parents of changes to the practice/game
schedule. These include:

Text Message Reminders and Updates

Parent cell-phone numbers will be contacted within the next few days with a text message that
will read:
 “This is B. Hughes. I’m using Remind to send important updates for ____________. To
get my updates reply with ___________. Freq varies by user/mo. Replay HELP for help.
Msg&data rates may apply.”

If you don’t wish to participate, you will not need to take any action.

To sign up for the reminder service, reply to the message with the verification code found
in the message. You will then be sent the following message: “Remind Updates: Thanks!
B. Hughes needs to know who you are. Please reply with your full name.”


Reply with your first and last name. This will allow the coaches to know who is receiving
reminders and who does not.

Finally, a verification message will be sent to your phone, letting you know that you’ve
been added to our update list. No further action will be required on your part.
Phone calls – will be used as a last resort. With over 30 players in the program, it is extremely time
consuming to contact everyone’s parents each time we need to send out a reminder or we must make a
change in the schedule. Signing up for the reminder service is the best way to ensure that we are able
to get in touch with you as soon as we are notified that a change has been made.
2. Individual and team pictures will be taken at a day to be announced in the next week or so. Team photos
for the game programs will be taken THIS Sunday, November 16 at 2:30 in the High School Gym. Players
will need to wear their warm-up jersey and game shorts.

Sunday, November 16 – Team Pictures (2:30 in HS Gym) & Team academic policy goes into effect
Monday, November 17 – First Day of Official Practice (Please see schedule)
Sunday, November 23 – “Meet the Devils” Night – HS Gym, Time: TBA
Saturday, November 29 – First Scrimmage @ Northern Bedford (not all players will attend)
Tuesday, December 2 – Home Scrimmage vs. Chestnut Ridge – 4:00 MS Gym (all players will participate, parents welcome)
Friday, December 5 – First Game @ Tyrone – 4:00
