JOB DESCRIPTION
Department:
Business Support
General Scope of Responsibilities: Manage procurement of all supplies and materials
for the business.
Specific Responsibilities:
•

Manage the Raw Material supply for Manufacturing
Purchase all resins and additives
Control inventories
Develop systems for feedback and quality improvement for and with our
suppliers
o
o
o

o
Negotiate pricing
Develop contingency plans for sourcing of all raw materials and additives
Maintain excellent relationships with current suppliers
Maintain and foster relationships with potential suppliers
Search for technically comparable products with reduced costs
Determine applicability of new product offerings from current and potential
suppliers

Manage the procurement of Manufacturing Supplies
Spools
Pallets
Boxes
Miscellaneous supplies
Develop contingency plans for sourcing of all manufacturing supplies

Manage month-end inventory reconciliation
•

Manage/Negotiate certain equipment purchases
Negotiate pricing
Generate Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs)
Manage projects and payments so as to complete projects on time and at
budget.

Manage Facility Maintenance
Secure bids, contractor selection and ongoing management
Janitorial
Snow removal
Grounds up keep
Nitrogen

Accounts payable
Reporting Relationships:
Line: Reports to Filaments Business Leader
Coordination: Coordinates with Manufacturing, Sales, Material Coordinator and
Filaments Controller

Preferred Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
•
Bachelor's Degree -- Chemistry or Materials emphasis preferred
•
Extensive Filaments Production experience will be considered in lieu of a
Bachelor's Degree
•
Experience with Supply Chain management
Skills:
•
ERP system use and manipulation (JDE, SAP, etc.)
•
Ability to develop/use spreadsheets and data bases.
•
Excellent oral and written communication skills
•
Negotiation skills
