Concept shooting involves careful consideration
of your Audience. How will your message touch
them most powerfully.
EMOTIONS - Concept shooting is centred on emotions, and
the telling of a story in its message.

There is some level of
abstraction, thus, in a
conceptual photo: the image
is a general expression of the
idea.

THE IDEA COMES FIRST
In Conceptual photography the idea
comes first.
A conceptual photographer is trying to
bring a message to the viewer, it might
be a political or social message.
USE OF SYMBOLS
Conceptual photography makes use of
graphical symbols to show ideas, movements
or moods that the photographer might want
to include in the message of their photograph.
Symbols with strong, well-established
connotations are usually used, from racy red
lipstick, a bleeding heart, a red apple to a
twenty pound note.

The intention of the photographer is to create
an image from his imagination.
He takes each part of the image as a separate
photograph and puts them together. Each
image is shot in the same detailed very bright
light. This creates a strange surreal or
superreal /hyperreal look.
