Office Live Workspace
Basics provides a user with its own domain name, and
the ability to create their own website. It also provides periodic
web site traffic reports. The package includes 25 e-mail
accounts under the registered domain. Even though this
service is free, Microsoft still requires a credit card number.
Collaboration includes the ability to share documents
and organize events, but does not include a website or a
first level domain. Collaboration is currently in beta for
all locales.
Microsoft Visio is diagramming software for Microsoft Windows.
It uses vector graphics to create diagrams.
Outlook 2007
A personal information manager from Microsoft, and
is part of the Microsoft Office suite.
Although often used mainly as an e-mail application,
it also provides a calendar, task and contact management,
note taking, a journal and web browsing.
It can be used as a stand-alone application, but can also
operate in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server to
provide enhanced functions for multiple users in an
organization, such as shared mailboxes and calendars,
public folders and meeting time
Groove 2007
At its most basic level, Groove is desktop software
designed to facilitate collaboration and communication
among small groups. It is a Windows-based commercial
product. The central Groove paradigm is the shared
workspace, a set of files to be shared plus some aids for group
collaboration. A Groove user creates a workspace and then
invites other Groove users into it. Each person who responds
to an invitation becomes a member of that workspace and is
sent a copy of the workspace that is installed on his or her
hard drive.
Access 2007
Microsoft Office Access, previously known as Microsoft
Access, is a relational database management system from
Microsoft which combines the relational Microsoft Jet
Database Engine with a graphical user interface. It is a
member of the 2007 Microsoft Office system.
Access can use data stored in Access/Jet, Microsoft SQL
Server, Oracle, or any ODBC-compliant data container.
Skilled software developers and data architects use it to
develop application software. Relatively unskilled
programmers and non-programmer "power users" can use it
to build simple applications. It supports some object-oriented
techniques but falls short of being a fully object-oriented
development tool.
Excel 2007
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application
written and distributed by Microsoft for Microsoft
Windows and Mac OS. It features calculation and
graphing tools which, along with aggressive
marketing, have made Excel one of the most popular
microcomputer applications to date. It is
overwhelmingly the dominant spreadsheet
application available for these platforms.
Word 2007
It is a component of the Microsoft Office
system; however, it is also sold as a standalone
product and included in Microsoft Works Suite.
Beginning with the 2003 version, the branding was
revised to emphasize Word's identity as a
component within the Office suite: Microsoft began
calling it Microsoft Office Word instead of merely
Microsoft Word.
Power point 2007
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by
Microsoft for its Microsoft Office system. Microsoft PowerPoint
runs on Microsoft Windows and the Mac OS computer operating
systems.
It is widely used by business people, educators, students, and
trainers and is among the most prevalent forms of persuasion
technology. Beginning with Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft
revised branding to emphasize PowerPoint's identity as a
component within the Office suite: Microsoft began calling it
Microsoft Office PowerPoint instead of merely Microsoft
PowerPoint. The current version of Microsoft Office PowerPoint is
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007. As a part of Microsoft Office,
Microsoft Office PowerPoint has become the world's most widely
used presentation program.
