PSTI: Long Term Training
• The overall efficiency of the power sector depends on
the performance of the T&D system.
• Focus is on efficiency enhancement of Transmission
and Distribution Sector due to deregulation and
liberalization introduced in to the Indian Power sector.
• An appreciable deficiency in this T&D sector of welltrained engineers.
• No formal studies in educational institutions can
equip the budding engineers with knowledge of
different inputs required for job performance in the
power sector.
PSTI: Long Term Training
• Keeping this in view, and to make
professionally trained manpower available to
the Power Industry, PSTI, Bangalore is
regularly conducting a 26-week certificate
course on “Operation & Maintenance in
T&D Systems”.
• The syllabus includes the requirements of an
engineer for Operation & Maintenance of
Transmission and Distribution Systems as per
IE Rules {rule 3(2B)}.
