10315 20 TH ST. S.E. LAKE STEVENS, WA 98258 (425) 334-3885 Fall 2015-2016 PRE-PRESCHOOL PROGRAM Teacher: Judi Storch Parent Information Package 10315 20TH ST. S.E. LAKE STEVENS, WA 98258 (425) 334-3885 Dear Parents: Welcome to Country Dawn’s Pre-Preschool Program. I am Judi Storch and I am pleased to be the Lead Teacher for the Pre-Preschool Program this fall, and it will be my challenge and responsibility to plan and conduct the program. I very much enjoy helping children explore their world, and develop new skills. I will be working with your children on a daily basis so let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Everett. I graduated from Cascade High School in 1972. I married my husband Steve in 1979, and we moved to Snohomish in 1986 when our daughter Amy was about 3 years old. Amy is now 32 and is a graduate of Snohomish High School. After being engaged for two years was married on September 11th 2004. We are now proud grandparents of Kaitlyn Sue Mills, who was born on February 20 th 2011 to Amy and Eric. In 1989 I became interested in childcare and decided to pursue it as a career. I found a job at a local childcare facility and worked in their Infant Care Program for about 1½ years. Then for the next seven years I worked with Toddlers ranging in age from 1 to 2½ years old, and during my last year-and-ahalf there I worked as a Teacher in the Preschool Program. As you can see I have a lot of experience working with children, and I have learned a lot about children over the years. The owners of the facility where I worked decided to close and sell the business in 1999, so I began looking for a new job. I applied for a position at Country Dawn in December of 1999, and I began working in the Younger Toddler Program as a Teacher’s Assistant. Then became the lead teacher for the Older Toddler program where I worked for 2 years. I am currently going on my 12th year with the Pre-Preschool Program. In 2000 I completed my 20 hour STARS training, which covers health, child growth and development, safety & child guidance. Each year following I complete 10 hours of continuing STARS training in compliance with state requirements. I am currently certified in CPR, First Aid, and have completed HIV/AIDS awareness and Defibrillator training requirements. All of the workshops, seminars, and classes I have attended have helped me with the development of new ideas, and enhanced my expertise in caring for and teaching young children. I thoroughly enjoy working here at Country Dawn and I am excited about my new role in the Pre-Preschool Program this fall. The Program I have planned will allow each child to learn and grow in a fun and nurturing environment. The children will develop socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically through play and fun-filled age-appropriate activities that also allow them to maintain their individuality and positive self-image. I am sure that your children will learn a lot and have a great deal of fun, as will I. If you have any questions or concerns about the Pre-Preschool Program or your child please do not hesitate to talk with me. I am looking forward to seeing you and your children in the fall. Sincerely, Judith Lynn Storch Pre-Preschool Program Teacher 10315 20TH ST. S.E.
