Revisiting The Process Journal

OVERVIEW
Learning Intention
Success Criteria
We are learning to
explain the
importance of the
process journal and
identify important
components in each
phase of the Personal
Project
Students will be
successful when they
can identify the
important
components of the
process journal and
revise their entries to
include any missing
information
An evolving record of the activities that
you complete to develop, achieve, and
reflect upon your final project
IS:
THE PROCESS JOURNAL
◇Used throughout the project to
document its development
◇An evolving record of intents,
processes, and accomplishments
◇A place to record sources and
maintain a bibliography
◇A place to store information qutoes, pictures, ideas,
photographs
◇A means of exploring ideas and
solutions
◇A place for evaluating work
completed
◇Record of feedback and
reflections
IS NOT:
◇Written up after the
process has been
completed
◇Additional work on
top of the project; it
is part of and
supports the project
◇A diary with
detailed writing
about what was
done
◇A static document
with only one
format

Journal
Paper
➔ The process journal holds together your final product
and your paper. This is where a lot of work in Personal
Project goes.
◆ The final paper will consist of references to your
process, and a reflection on that process
◆ The process journal is your way of keeping track of
your progress toward your final product
DO ALL OF MY PROCESS JOURNAL
ENTRIES HAVE TO BE WRITTEN?
Although most of the prompts that you will
be given in ELO require a written response,
you can (and should) include pictures,
videos, etc. into your process journal.
