MSc thesis project - Mobile Broadband performance-00074838 Description Ericsson is the largest supplier of mobile networks in the world. These networks are evolving quickly with a huge demand for new functionality, more Smartphone capacity, and even higher data rates. The next evolution step in mobile communication beckons – the networked society where everything that benefits from a connection has a connection, enabling a smarter society and a more sustainable world. Ericsson is powering the mobile broadband revolution and Product Development Unit WCDMA and Multi-standard RAN is the provider of Ericsson's world-leading 3G Radio Access Network. The Technical Management unit within PDU WCDMA and MS RAN is responsible for providing leadership in the understanding and development of WCDMA and Multi-standard mobile network technology. A vital component in this work is quantifying the relationship between end-user satisfaction, overall network performance, and the use of specific technology features and settings. This MSc thesis project involves performing a sensitivity analysis of the key metrics affecting mobile broadband end-user satisfaction to network configuration, capabilities, and settings. The work will be performed by means of simulations and possibly lab measurements. The results will increase our understanding of mobile broadband performance and may be used to enhance real product solutions.
