MARKETING OFFICER
Ensemble Theatre is a not-for-profit arts organisation producing an annual season of plays at its home venue, the
Ensemble Theatre located in Kirribilli, Sydney. The company produces around 10 productions each year at Ensemble
Theatre. Productions regularly tour direct from the season to other venues in NSW/ACT as well as periodically
undertaking national tours.
Ensemble Theatre is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Marketing Officer. The successful applicant will
have marketing experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with effective time management
and attention to detail. Experience in the performing arts sector is desirable but not essential. The Marketing Officer
will report to the Company Manager.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS



Initial 3 Month Casual Contract
21 hours per week (flexible working hours)
Hourly rate: $25 per hour

MARKETING OFFICER
POSITION PURPOSE
The Marketing Officer implements marketing tasks, plans and strategies for the promotion of Ensemble Theatre’s
annual program as well as promoting fundraising initiatives.
RELATIONSHIPS
Reporting
The position reports to the Company Manager, Laura Connarty-Duncan.
Collaboration and Communication
 Report to the Company Manager, working closely with the Artistic Directors.
 Liaise with the Ticketing Manager
Ensemble Theatre is a small organisation and it is critical that employees are flexible and willing to fill gaps when
they arise and to maintain excellent collaborative relationships with all Ensemble Theatre staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
In consultation with the Marketing Team (Company Manager, Artistic Director, Casting & Communication Manager,
Marketing Assistant), develop and implement the marketing plan for each production and project staged by
Ensemble Theatre.
Implement a targeted social media plan and manage Ensemble Theatre’s social media platforms including Facebook,
Twitter, Linked In, Youtube, Instagram and Pinterest – utilising Hootsuite.
Create content for social media and marketing – such as vox pops, images and in-house artwork utilising basic video
and image editing software including Photoshop, Picmonkey or similar.
Design and distribute regular electronic communications including EDMs, special offers and informational emails
using Lyris.
Work alongside the Marketing and Administration Assistant to maximise the marketing potential of print collateral
and exploit all channels of distribution.
Occasionally update Ensemble Theatre website using Wordpress.
Build, maintain and organise mailing lists.
Work effectively within a busy small team to integrate marketing and Box Office activities.
Contribute new and fresh ideas to increase ticket sales and market productions, where required.
Attend functions in a fundraising and marketing capacity.
Other reasonable duties as required.
