The Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA) is established in terms of the

Senior Manager: Information Communication Technology
Salary: R 771 306 per annum (Ref. 2013/01)
Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible to plan, administer and review
the acquisition, development, maintenance and use of computer and telecommunications systems
within organisation. To maintain Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategies by
managing staff, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.
Key outputs: Work out current and future IT needs by consulting with people at all levels about
the Current work systems and deciding how improvements could be made, Analyse the
information needs of an organisation and develop technological solutions to satisfy those needs,
Direct activities to select and install major IT facilities, Oversee the provision of training for users
and clients, Direct the integration of IT operations, computer hardware, operating systems,
Communications, software applications and data processing, Work out priorities for systems
developments, maintenance and operations, Control the security aspects of ICT systems, Provide
advice to other senior managers and boards on IT issues and planning, Formulating and directing
information and communication technology (ICT) strategies, policies and plans, Directing the
selection and installation of ICT resources and the provision of user training, Directing ICT
operations and setting priorities between system developments, maintenance and operations,
Develop, implement and maintain all ICT standards and policies, Manage the planning and
execution
of
all
ITC
projects
i.t.o.
time,
cost,
manpower
and
equipment, Software licence compliant, Develop Internal and External SLA’s, Provide leadership,
mentorship and development opportunities for ICT staff, Investigate and research ICT market
trends, Configuration management.
Minimum Requirements: Relevant B. Degree or Diploma, 6 to 8 years relevant experience
working in IT and /or IS support environment of which 5 years must be at management level,
Extensive experience in systems development, commissioning, maintenance and support,
Experience in implementing systems security policies and procedures, Experience in implementing
of ICT Strategy, People management, Management of ICT Department,
