BEHAVIOR
In the classrooms here at Lagos
Elementary, we follow the “3 Be’s”:
 Be Safe: Keeping hands, feet, objects to
self
 Be Respectful: Respecting all students
and adults
 Be Responsible: Having homework and
classwork turned in on time, being
prepared in class, staying on task,
following directions

BEHAVIOR
Clip Up/Clip Down Chart
 Clip Up Rewards include:
-Tiki Store Tickets that buy pencils,
markers, stickers, treasure chest prizes, etc.
-Mustangs to be put in class/school
drawings
-Special jobs around the classroom
-Conduct/behavior scores will soar, too! 

BEHAVIOR

Clip Down Consequences include:
Missing one or more recesses
Sitting out of an activity in the classroom
Loss of privileges
Timeout in another teacher’s room/office
If a student does not have all homework
completed, and he/she was at school the day
before, then he/she will automatically miss
morning recess in order to catch up
Conduct/behavior scores will drop if they
continuously have to clip down
WEEKLY STUDENT
SELF REFLECTIONS
Students score themselves every Friday
 Purpose: Students are held accountable
for their own actions
 Students are always very honest!
 I agree/disagree, and make changes if
necessary
 Parents sign and return on Monday

BIRTHDAYS
• No birthday treats allowed at school per
Kyrene District policy
• Strictly enforced this year!
• Reasons: -Nutrition Guidelines
-Loss of instructional time
• However, your student may bring a
healthy snack to share during our snack
time only (bring in their backpack)
• From Ms. Bailey: certificate, Tiki Tickets,
free treasure box prize
HOMEWORK
HOMEWORK POSTED ONLINE:
I remind the students every day that
it is a daily EXPECTATION during
the school week to check their
homework online that is posted on
my Kyrene teacher web site:

 “Reminders” section posts all upcoming
school events for parents!! 

HOMEWORK
Vocabulary/Spelling Lists:
-Switch off every week - spelling list this week,
vocabulary list next week…
-Vocabulary = 10 words, Spelling = 20 words
-We work with words in class a couple days, but
will require more studying at home
-Responsible for knowing the spelling or meanings
of the words for the spelling test or vocabulary quiz
on Fridays
-Study strategies/activities sheet will be placed in
green Homework folder prongs

-Math is NOT taught the same anymore!!

-Reinforces concepts that are being learned in class
