“Make in India” - TII Group acquires civil business of Tratec in India and
increases its international presence with production on site
With the “Make in India”-program, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has smoothed
the way for international investments in India. At this point, the course for an expansion
to India was already set for the German TII Group, world market leader in the
development and manufacture of heavy transport vehicles with hydraulically suspended
pendulum axles. By recently taking over the civil branch of the traditional Indian supplier
TRATEC, successful in the Indian market for over 30 years, the company has now made
its move. TII India Pvt. Ltd. - the Indian subsidiary of TII Group - will function as
interlinkage between the existing and future Tratec civil business and the TII Group.
Customers now profit on site from the TII Group’s top-rate performance, technological
edge and global presence.
TII India will offer a variety of proven technology vehicles from spring 2016 on, all in the spirit of
“German Engineering – Make in India”. On 30,000 square meters plant area trained and skilled
employees will produce a broad range of transportation equipment by the new product brand
Tratec TIIGER. Beneath modular vehicles TII India will offer a variety of light telescopic and
non-telescopic trailers.
According to Otto Rettenmaier, head of owner family of the TII Group “The TII Group has grown
continuously in the last decades and is world market leader in heavy duty transporter solutions
with hydraulically suspended axles for payloads of up to 15.000 metric tons. The foundation of
TII India with its new production plant is the next logical step in our strategy to serve our
international customers on site.”

product portfolio. Our vehicles meet the Indian market demands. Additionally, our customers

production site in Bawal, Haryana India, close to Delhi. Skilled and trained by German
standards, our employees produce saddle trailers, modular trailers and a broad range of
