Clinic Description
The coaching staff at Franklin and Marshall College invites you to attend our 2016 Winter Underclass Prospect
Showcase on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1pm to 5pm in the newly renovated Alumni Sports and Fitness
Center. The camp will teach upper level baseball skills to high school prospects. The camp will also have a
showcase segment. All players currently enrolled in high school are eligible for the camp, however the camp is
especially designed for underclass players (9th, 10th, and 11th graders). This showcase will give you an opportunity to
not only be seen by our entire coaching staff, but also to meet and work directly with current F&M players.
Clinic Staff
The clinic is led by F&M Head Baseball Coach Ryan Horning. Coach Horning was named the Diplomats’ head
coach in 2013 after serving as an assistant at F&M for five seasons. Coach Horning was recognized as the
Centennial Conference Coach of the Year in 2015 after leading the Diplomats to a 28-13 record. As an assistant,
Coach Horning helped lead the 2013 F&M team to the Centennial Conference Championship. Coach Horning has
also served as an assistant coach at Cornell University, St. John Fisher College and Longwood University.
Nate Mulberg enters his second season as an assistant for the Diplomats. Coach Mulberg graduated cum laude from
the University of Rochester, where he was a four-year starting infielder and Phi Beta Kappa inductee. In 2014,
Coach Mulberg helped UR reach its first Liberty League Championship game when he hit .359 with a .468 on-base
percentage. He is ranked in the top 10 in school history in sac hits, assists, double plays turned and hit by pitch.
Matt Scheuing enters his 11th year as an assistant coach at F&M. A local product, Matt did his college pitching at
Millersville University. A pitcher for the Pennsylvania Road Warriors and a Lancaster County native, Scheuing
concluded his fourth season in minor league baseball in 2006. In 2005, the lefthander was 6-6 with 52 strikeouts and
a 5.29 earned run average in 26 starts for the Lancaster Barnstormers, who completed their inaugural campaign with
a 64-76 overall record, including a 37-33 Atlantic League second half mark.
Gordon Eck enters his eighth season as an assistant coach for the Diplomats in 2015. A 2004 graduate of Franklin
and Marshall College, Eck played first base, left field and pitched during his career. He finished his career with a
