The Bald Eagle is our
National Bird. It was
made our National Bird
in 1789.
The Bald Eagle is found
in every single state
except Hawaii.
The Bald Eagle is symbol
of power and strength.
Benjamin Franklin
wanted the National
Bird to be the Turkey.

The Bald Eagle can be found as part of “The Great Seal of the
United States”
“The Great Seal” including the Bald Eagle
can be found on the back of the one dollar
bill and on the back of the quarter.
THE WHITE
HOUSE
The President lives in the
White House.
The White house was built
in 1800.
The White House is symbol
of the Presidency, the
United States
government, and the
American people.
George Washington is
the only President to
never live in the White
house.

THE STATUE OF
LIBERTY
Given to the United States as
a gift from the French in
celebration of the 100 year
anniversary of the signing of
the Declaration of
Independence.
 A universal symbol of political
freedom and democracy.
 Located in New York Harbor
where it welcomes visitors,
immigrants, and welcomes
home traveling Americans.

THE NATIONAL
ANTHEM
The Star-Spangled Banner was written by Francis
Scott Key on September 13, 1814.Scott was being
held prisoner at Fort Henry by the British. He
was so surprised to see the Flag the morning
after the battle that he wrote this poem. In 1931
the Star-Spangled Banner became our National
Anthem.
The Star-Spangled Banner is a symbol of
freedom, spirit and the pursuit of
excellence.
