Year 8 Drama
Welcome back! We hope you have all had a lovely holiday and are ready for
another year of drama.
Over this week we would like you to think back over everything you learnt in
drama last year as year 7s. A lot of the skills and techniques that you learnt will
be used again and again, so it is important that you remember them!
1.) List all of the techniques you learnt in drama last year. Here are a few to
start you off... Freeze frame, Sound scape, thoughts-out- loud can you
remember what these are? How many others can you list? Merits for
those of you who can list over 15 techniques!
2.) List the skills you learn in drama that help you in other subjects. Here are
a couple to give you an example...public speaking, working with others

3.) We learnt a lot of vocabulary in drama last year-how much can you
remember and explain? Explain in your own words what the following
dramatic terms mean: Gestures Levels Space Facial expressions
Blocking Pace can you think of any other drama vocabulary you learnt?
List as many words as you can and explain each one –you will get a merit
for each extra one you can remember!
