LESSON PLAN 1– Trueman Nottingham Low Beginner February 23, 2015 Class level Lesson date 1 hour Classroom Elebaires Classroom Lesson duration I expect Carlos, a low beginner, to be able to use the present tense form of the verb “to Progress expectation play” as well as identify and use certain sports vocabulary, such as different sports in general(football, american football, basketball, baseball, roller skating, ext.) basic equipment used in those sports (i.e. a tennis racket, shin guards, helmets, baseball glove/bat). He should also be able to use the I, you, he/she/it, we, and you plural forms of the verbs “to play,” “to swim,” and a few others. Sports and sports vocabulary, along with the present tense usage of the verb “to play” and Subject a few other action verbs. Using the present tense of the verb “to play” in relation to sports, using a few other action Topic verbs in the same tense (to swim, to walk, to run) and sports equipment vocabulary. I would like Carlos to be able to use the present tense of the verb to play in all forms Aim (I,We, you, he/she/it, and you plural) as well as identify some sports equipment that may be foreign to him. If he can identify by picture quickly, then I would also like him to be able to spell the names of the sport as well as the equipment used for it. Student should be able to identify the name of different sports (Tennis, Basketball, Objective American Football, football (soccer), Baseball, Cycling, ect.) as well as identify certain sports equipment by name. He should also be able to say which sport each piece of equipment is associated with (i.e. shin guards to football, baseball glove to baseball, tennis racket to tennis). Finally, he should be able to use the present tense of the verb “to play” to create sentence. (i.e. he plays sports, she plays football, we play basketball). Knowledge He knows the I, you, we, he/she/it, and you plural pronouns. Post lesson Use this section to write up coherent comments about how your lesson went. notes -The lesson did go to plan. Timing of activities was good. Difficulty of activities was of a good level. Challenging vocab -Trouble with graded language. Question from a cup activity could have been better. Questions were not creative enough/did not illicit target material as well as I wanted. Maybe start with a paradigm next time. -Paradigm did not last as long/go as smoothly as I wanted. Need to make it more organized (check megan’s notes) -Worksheet did not last as long as planned. Next time, if answer is yes, cross it out and make him do negative. Vice versa for negative answers. -CHECK MY GRADED LANGUAGE/RUNNING COMMENTARY. Has some issues with pronunciation and finishing/completing his words (ie Mike sounds like “my” without the “k” sound)
