Wednesday 17 June 2015 AXA Life Invest launches new Trustee Investment Plan, providing UK savers with a plan that protects and grows Secure Advantage+ Trustee Investment Plan (TIP) offers the full flexibility of the pension reforms, while offering funds which reduce the effect of extreme market volatility These Global Strategy Funds are designed for savers with a range of different risk profiles AXA Life Invest has launched its Secure Advantage+ Trustee Investment Plan (TIP), one of the first of a new generation of products which can react to changing market headwinds, changing the funds’ exposure to risky assets depending on volatility levels. Offering the full flexibility of the pension freedoms, the plan allows people who are already saving into a pension to reduce the effect of extreme market volatility on their pension pot. For those who choose to add on the Lifetime Income Benefit, the plan provides a retirement income which is guaranteed to cover essential costs in retirement, such as bills and food. This creates a guaranteed stream of income back into the pension scheme. This income is guaranteed for life as long as no additional withdrawals are taken from the Plan and has the potential to grow over time. With the potential to increase the amount of income thanks to the fund performance, savers can boost their future income and benefit from any increase in the markets. Simon Smallcombe, Managing Director of AXA Life Invest UK, said: “The Government’s reforms have given retirees far greater freedoms than ever before. But pension savers tell us they still want retirement confidence: knowledge that income will always be there to cover essential expenses such as gas bills and food. AXA Life Invest has listened to its customers and brought to market a product which protects pensioners’ income, while giving them flexibility to change their mind. “Our plan offers the full spirit of the pension freedoms, allowing savers the flexibility and choice to turn guarantees on and off and change their investment strategy as their circumstances change.” Andy Zanelli, Head of Retirement Planning at AXA Wealth, said: “When it comes to investing in retirement, volatility is one of the four big risks people face. With limited opportunity to top up your pension, people are looking for a mix of investments that can protect their pension fund from potentially negative short-term market changes. By offering our advisers and their 1 clients access to this TIP, with access to the AllianceBernstein funds, through our pension products we can help savers to mitigate the impact of market volatility. “Retirement is about doing more of the things you want to and holistic financial planning should help clients achieve this. Our research has told us that even with the new pension freedoms people are still looking for some level of financial security in retirement such as guaranteed income. So if someone has the option to invest in a TIP, it’s good that they have the opportunity to separate out some of their pension to create a secure income to cover the essentials such as housing or food.” Investment strength AXA Life Invest’s Global Strategy funds are professionally managed by AllianceBernstein, one of the most respected investment management firms in the world. The funds use well-researched risk management techniques to ensure exposure levels to volatility are reduced. They are managed within specific tolerance levels to offer smoother, more consistent returns over time, decreasing the effect of market falls, while ensuring they don’t miss out on the upside and giving pension savers increased peace of mind. Patrick Rudden, Managing Director, Multi-Assets and Alternatives at AllianceBernstein, said: “With the SecureAdvantage+ TIP, we are giving UK savers access to this highly sophisticated investment and risk management strategy, which before now could only be accessed by leading institutional pension funds. We use sophisticated risk management techniques to ensure that savers are never exposed to more volatility than they want, reacting quickly to changing market conditions to adjust clients’ portfolios accordingly.” -ENDS- Enquiries Alexander Burley, H+K Strategies, 0207 973 5925 Alexander.Burley@hkstrategies.com AXA@hkstrategies.com About the SecureAdvantage+ TIP The Trustee investment Plan can be taken as an investment, either with or without a Lifetime Income Benefit, which offers a minimum guaranteed income in retirement.
