Please answer the questions listed below.
Please note you have to complete the questions below. This is part of your overall assessment.
Requirements for satisfactory completion
For a ‘satisfactory’ result in this task, all questions must be answered to a ‘satisfactory’ standard. At
Certificate III level this means that:
 you answer using complete sentences, making direct reference to the question
 you specifically address all parts of the question
 you use your own words—when occasionally quoting directly from another source of information,
acknowledge that source
 your answers are about one paragraph to one half page long—this is an average only; some
questions will require longer answers, some shorter
 your answers include a mix of theory backed up with specific workplace examples (real or
hypothetical) where appropriate.
To achieve a Competent (C) for these units of competency you need to successfully:

As part of the overall assessment towards your competency in the above mentioned Unit of Competency, you will be asked to demonstrate the
following skills:
Followed DRSABCD in line with ARC guidelines, including:
o performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both
compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
o performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an
infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface
o responded appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
o managed the unconscious breathing casualty
o followed single rescue procedure, including the demonstration of a rotation of operators with minimal interruptions to
compressions
o followed the prompts of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Responded to at least two simulated first aid scenarios contextualised to the candidate’s workplace/community setting, including:

conducted a visual and verbal assessment of the casualty
demonstrated safe manual handling techniques
post-incident debrief and evaluation
provided an accurate verbal or written report of the incident
