Salary Range:
FJ$30,000 to FJ$45,000 per annum, full package.
Duty Station:
Suva, limited travel to provinces and districts may be required.
Reporting Responsibilities:

organisations, stakeholders

POSITION PURPOSE
The position undertakes research on current international best practices and manages international
relations with key stakeholders to obtain best assistance to improve FEOs roles and service delivery.
KEY DUTIES
The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties. Working through the relevant
staff, in accordance with legislative requirements and the operational needs of the FEO:

Identify project goals, research methods variables and other test parameters;
Provide timely and expert advice on all international relations matters to the Director;
Develop and maintain relationships with relevant international stakeholders;
Coordinate all information releases to/from the Fijian Elections Office and developments within the
relevant international agencies and ensure management is updated;
5. Determine how to collect data and offer recommendations on evaluating new research projects;
6. Collecting literature reviews, Works in Progress, abstracts, presentations and other information
and/or updates from the research groups;
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Performance will be measured through the following indicators:
1. All international relations activities within the business plans are completed and delivered as
planned and budgeted;
2. All external communication is coordinated, factual and in accordance with Fiji legislation and
relevant policy and procedures;
3. Research work completed in accordance with the plan, budget and time frame
4. All project goals attained within time frame and budget.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities required to successfully undertake this role are:
Knowledge and Experience
1. Experience in providing communications, public relations or high level stakeholder information
programs and protocols;
2. High level knowledge of communication techniques, public relations activities and approaches;
3. Knowledge of Electoral Systems and methods for accurately communicating material;
4. Understanding of the Fijian Constitution (2013) and applicable electoral and media laws of Fiji;
Skills and Abilities
1. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and to meet tight and immovable deadlines and to work
as part of a team;
2. High level written and oral communication skills and the ability to write effective and accurate
correspondences;
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate with individuals and groups from diverse cultures,
backgrounds and experience;
4. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and neutrality, in a sensitive environment;
5. Capacity to utilise computer programs to support the operations of complex organisation;
6. Service oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the operational / corporate
environment of the organisation.
Personal Character and Political Neutrality

police record and be politically neutral. Applicants shortlisted will be required to provide a medical
certificate and police clearance at their interview.
