We have studied food security through our All about Hunger web quest, the World Hunger Map,
the Walk a Mile in their Shoes case studies, the Canadian Food Grains Bank presentation and activity. In
addition, you could look at Chapter 14 in our textbook.

Your project should:
Address the issue of hunger around the world
Show evidence of research (including notes and works cited)
Show effort and insight (that you have thought deeply about the issue)
Be creative
Options:
Art – consider the issues of hunger through art. You could do a collage, a picture or painting. Also
include a write-up, your research notes, and a Works cited page.
Children’s Story – sometimes complex issues are best shared through a simple story. Try to use the
format of a children’s story to share ideas about hunger. It should include pictures.
Music – Make a musical compilation of songs that address the issue of hunger. Include the lyrics and
your written response to them. Make a CD cover for your compilation.
Poetry – write a series of poems about hunger. Include a paragraph about your response to world
hunger.
Essay writing/ editorial – Write about your ideas about hunger. Include your research and your opinion.
Be sure to think about the questions you want to answer.
