XUV 5OO SHIELD
An optional extended warranty scheme from M&M, which is designed to indemnify the
owner from unforeseen mechanical & electrical breakdown of XUV. We accept the
responsibility of repairs/replacement only as per the terms and conditions mentioned
below.
Commencement
This starts immediately after expiry of the original warranty and lasts for another 2 years
or 50000 kms. Whichever is earlier, further extending your peace of mind.
Coverage
If any defect(s) should be found in the XUV. within the tenure of XUV. Shield in
mechanical/electrical parts, listed in the master schedule of parts appearing below,
M&M’s only obligation is to repair or replace at its whole discretion any part shown to be
defective with a new part or the equivalent with no cost to owner for the parts or labor,
only such a defect is attributable to faulty material or workmanship at the time of
manufacture. The Owner shall repair or replace the parts that are not covered by the
Bolero. Shield, at his own expenses.

MASTER SCHEDULE OF PARTS COVERED
Engine:
Cylinder head and head gasket, oil pump and drive, crankshaft and related bearing and
seals, flywheel and ring gear, timing gears, belts and chains, camshaft and related
bearings and seals, cam follower, valves (excluding burnt and pitted valves) valve gear,
piston rings, connecting rod, gudgeon pin, inlet and exhaust manifolds, internal oil seals,
bore/ liner, turbocharger, oil cooler.
Transmission and transfer case:
Internal gears, shafts, synchromesh rings and hub, internal seals, bearings and bushes,
selector forks, drive chains, gear lever and bushes.
Cooling system:
Radiator, water pump, thermostat, engine oil cooler, hoses, belts, Intercooler and
hoses.
Steering System:
Steering assembly column, shaft bearings, couplings. Tie rods and ends and steering
linkages, bell crank
Propeller Shaft:
Shaft, Universal joints.
Front and Rear Axle:
Crown wheel and pinion, differential gears, internal seals, drive shaft hub and hub
bearing, drive flange, upper and lower arms, ball joints.
Fuel System:
Fuel injection pump, metering unit, common rail, injectors, high pressure pipes, filter
bodies, fuel pipes, cables.
HVAC:
Compressor, condenser, electronic controls, control linkages, evaporator, reservoir
(excluding re-charging the system), control panels, flaps.
Chassis System:
Chassis frame, cross member.
Suspension:
Shock absorbers (fluid leakage), spring assemblies, Bushes.
Exhaust System:
Muffler, Catalytic converter.
Electrical system:
Starter motor and solenoid, alternator, wiper motors of windscreen, head lamps, cooling
fan motor, horn, relays, indicator flasher unit, gauges, switches, music system* and
VMS*, rear demister*, high mounted stop lamp*, Power window* and central locking*
(* where given as a factory fitment)
Casings:
Should failure of any of the components covered in the Master Schedule of Parts result
in damage to the casings, then they will also be covered.
EXCLUSIONS
This is the list of important items, which are not covered under the Bolero Shield
a) Normal maintenance services including without limitation, oil and fluid changes,
wheel alignment, head light aiming, wheel balancing, tightening mountings, tyre
rotation, tyre inflation, engine tuning, clutch and brake setting, valve clearing
setting, differential backlash setting, replacement of belts.
b) Normal maintenance service items including without limitation, bulbs, battery,
tubes, brake lining, internal parts of brake master cylinder and wheel cylinder,
belts, hoses, filters, wiper blades, bushes, oil and coolants.
c) Any seal/gasket replaced/refitted as a part of periodic maintenance schedule.
d) Items having limited life like, clutch, brake liners and pads, catalytic converter,
muffler.
e) Interior trim, wheel rims, rubber parts, body and body parts, body mouldings,
corrosion of body parts, glass, lenses, lock cylinder etc.
f) Any repair service required as a part of accident.
g) Accessories.
What is the eligibility to register my XUV under XUV. Shield?
All Bolero diesel variants which satisfy the following conditions are eligible:

The vehicle must be covered under warranty and should have not covered more
than 1,00,000KMs at the time of registration under XUV Shield.

The vehicle must have been maintained by an authorized M&M dealer as per the
maintenance schedule

The vehicle must be covered under the comprehensive motor policy at the time
of registration and during the entire period of the extended warranty.

The vehicle must be free of accidents at the time of registration
CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP
On resale of the Bolero the new owner can obtain benefit from the XUV Shield for
remaining tenure of XUV Shield by filling up the form provided in the booklet given to
owner on registration of XUV Shield with M&M dealer.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE RECORD
Service and maintenance records of the XUV are to be maintained as per the Owners
Manual till such time the Bolero is under primary warranty (3 years or 100000 Km).
During the Bolero Shield period, the service and maintenance record should be
maintained as per the booklet.
Other specific details are mentioned on the back of the registration form provided to the
owner at the time of registration.
