What is video?
According to Webster’s Dictionary
2: a recording of a motion picture or
television program for playing through a
television set b : a videotaped
performance of a song often featuring
an interpretation of the lyrics through
visual images
3 : a recording similar to a videotape but
stored in digital form (as on an optical
disk or a computer's hard drive)
Video vs. Film
• Video and Film are two totally
different mediums for shooting and
storing footage for a production.
• Video stores the image and sound on
a single cassette or memory card.
• Video is portable and cheap.
Video vs. Film
•Film has a rich and vibrant color
quality.
•Film is less tolerant of different light
levels.
•More cumbersome for editing.
