Question 9: REPORTING TOOLS- Please note any further comments about reporting
FSG is not flexible enought
I don't see integration across modules for reporting
I feel Oracle should have to provide option to export the report in MS-Excel format. More, SRS should be flexible in to hide
It depends on the expertise of the end users
Major issue is that many required reports are missing and clients need those reports before going live for that consultants
have to develop those reports while compromising quality.
Most done using Excel but this doesn't please the auditors who thing everything should be available at the press of a button
No Comments. Lot of Improvement could be made in reporting tool. Could be more normalized and simple. More GUI can be
provided to end user so that they can generate their required themselves.
Option for generating Excel output to improved. Although BIP/XMLP can be used to generate Excel output, it couldn't satisfy
the user requirements/acceptability for bigger reports(Transaction Listing) due to performance issue (Since Excel = HTML
Recommend BI Apps 7.9.6 not Daily Business Intelligence. This is a great product.
Spreadsheet Server and Noetix are both excellent reporting tools for Oracle. FSG is just plain horrible.
Std Oracle and RDF reports are generally not used
Super Visual Formade(SVF)for Oracle E-Business Suite

There is a lack of cost effective tool for ad-hoc reporting by users without needing knowledge of table structures. I guess this
is not possible without end user layer defined first.
Use of Oracel Portal
Use XLS export from forms
We also developed our own reporting systems by taking data from messaging applications, since we used more than 1
applications (ERP, MFG, PDM are all different systems).
We import data into our warehouse to report using Microstrategy
We usually download Standard Reports, Customized reports and queries into Excell and use Pivot tables for analysis
You can not assume that in order to produce a report you have to manipulate data.
In EBS in gl FSG other modules oracle report builder, oracle discoverer & other tools
We using reporting tools for BI (Cognos) but not for financial reporting.
We have purchased a third party reporting tool to make financial reporting easier. It was also understood that ADI would not
be certified on 10g. We were advised to upgrade to Report Manager but this is totally unacceptable and the functionality is
We also user GL Wand.

Question 11: REPORTING and ANALYSIS TOOLS
BeLife.co.uk: UKOUG May 2009
Discoverer "Not Recommended" due to frequency of inability to find data required for inclusion in reports within the
"standard" EUL
Dr.Sum EA and SAP BW
Hyperion is a great tool for consolidation. WEB ADI is far, far worse than ADI "classic".
Most of our MIS is from an in-house developed dsystem
oracle BI apps for EBS is missing and too expensive
Oracle report designer. Nice tool but very difficult to do debuging for OA
Toad, Report 6i
We use a product called Business Object Planning from SAP for our management accounts and budgeting processes.
We use ADI for FSGs. This is acceptable, but high maintenance.
We use Discoverer. But it's not very supported or user-wide. Many do not know how to use it. We're phasing it out.
We find there are too many different reporting options for users. They don't know which one to use.
wE USE khalix for budgetary, forecasting reporting plus also for statutory/fiscal reporting
We use Microstrategy
We used discoverer coupled by our own developed reporting tools using Oracle tools.
We are currently investigating report manager and intend to revisit FSG's

Question 13: DRILL DOWN/TRANSACTION ANALYSIS - Please note any further
comments about drill down/ transaction analysis tools.
Ad hoc queries we use Access / ODBC

Best practise solutions for the different Oracle application. clarity on pricing, clear path to start simply then upgrade
Better information and clearer pricing with easy start option
Clarity on options & prices, including non-Oracle products.
Clarity on pricing. we feel that they dont offer fair price to each company and also policy for support (metalink) depends upon
the userbase( you dont get prompt response if you have a lesser userbase)
clear path to start simply then upgrade
Clear path to stat simply then upgrade, licensing conditions
Cost
Ease of User doc. with a sample matching bussiness process in a flow.
Easy Upgrade
establish meaningful upgrade paths for each major client.
I should have to take care of segment of DFF at the time of up-gradation specially in context of country specific localaization.
improve pricing, simplify solution
Integration of recently acquired tools with Oracle EBS
Lower Pricing of BIEE and BI Apps. It great but very expensive.
Make OBIEE affordable for all - especially in this market scenario, Offer more out of the box and plug and play reporting in

More continuity on products
more sales persons around all countries, less prices

offer more online training
Oracle always supports good

Reporting of the business process improvement with the upgrading.
Review the standard seeded reports and improve accuracy, parametrization, aesthetics
sell bi apps for free using oracle tools
Understand the problems experienced by their customers esp. SMEs
Upgrades are always issue at the Oracle part and again I will focus on standard reports.

Thanks for the great survey and questions. Appreciate the work being put together, and always open to suggestions
Thanks for the survey, it is long overdue.

An offer of the item information and Mediation of the work.
Come up with a REAL reporting solution that works so I don't have to go out shopping for 3rd party solutions
Formulate a good landed costing solution
Get Simon Tomey on the case
i think there is lot of product overlap
Integration of modules for data entry and reporting
Look first at what you can get "out of the box" from Oracle - it may not be perfect but you've probably paid for it and it is
specifically designed for Oracle. It ought to be upgradable too.
Need to be easy reporting
Recommend a BI Publisher workshop
Spreadsheet Server is a good concept that Oracle can buy and deploy - similar to Excel Addin for Essbase
Survey to understand who is using which products to report from eBusiness suite applications.
Take advantage of the XML reporting feature. It is the most versatile
Tell me why would more use windows than other operating system? Simpally, easy navigation and simple effective help
system of windows. These feature lack of in Oracle financials 11i or R12.
Try to use more query from forms
Use BI Apps 7.9.6. It's an awesome product - best thing I've seen Oracle do in the last 10 years.
Ya instead of workaround in the implementation better to go with standard features.
