Job Description Fertility Nurse Due to continued expansion, 3fivetwo Healthcare is creating a number of new opportunities within the Group. This position will be based at Origin Fertility Care but may be required to travel to other company locations as required. Location Origin Fertility Care, Belfast Contract Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Responsible to Lead Nurse Job Summary: The post holder will be expected to fulfill the role of nurse; working effectively within the multidisciplinary team to provide the highest quality service and care, contributing to quality improvement and maintaining own professional development. A flexible approach to work patterns is necessary to accommodate individual patient needs. Responsibilities will include: Providing support & assistance with clinical procedures & clinics Assisting in theatre Taking on clinical procedures when suitably trained and deemed competent Patient care planning and management of nursing care Effective communication with staff, patients and outside agencies General housekeeping, equipment maintenance and stock control Maintenance of patient records, including database Emergency phone cover Assigned Tasks and Responsibilities: Clinical: Work under the direction of the Lead Nurse to ensure patient care is provided following clinic policies and protocols. Nurse 2015.02 Page 1 of 4 Take responsibility as nurse for designated patient, completing and managing patient care plans including: Extending own role to perform clinical procedures such as ultrasound scanning when suitably trained Ensuring informed consent and completion of documentation Providing patient information with regard to individual treatment plans Teaching administration of medication Dispensing medication to patients Managing patient phone enquiries with regard to treatment, including emergency calls Providing out of hours emergency cover on a rota basis Other duties include: In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, coordinate and schedule patient’s treatment Support and assist at consultation clinics, including chaperoning, assisting at examination, venepuncture, and providing patient information Support and assist at clinical procedures, providing nursing care before, during and after, including procedures under sedation Adhere to DHSS and NMC guidelines for storage, safe handling and administration of medicines Maintain adequate levels of supplies/equipment ensuring economical use of supplies Fulfil any delegated managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Lead Nurse or Deputy, including ensuring satisfactory nursing cover arrangements when required.
