Course description The course focuses on academic and business writing trainings, covering summary/abstract writing; three modes of essays; and business letters and documents. The course aims to equip students with the ability to produce well-organized, logical, and lucid essays and business documents. Requirements and Rules 1. Class attendance, lesson preparation and active class participation are required. 2. One point will be deducted from your final grade for the first absence; two points will be deducted from your final grade for the second absence. Starting from the third absence, three points will be deducted from the final grade with each absence. 3. Being late or leaving early for over 10 minutes is treated as absence of one class hour, resulting in one-point deduction from your final grade. 4. It is the student’s responsibility to find out what occurred and what was taught in class during his or her absence. 5. All assignments are required to be submitted within due date. Two points will be deducted from the final grade for each late submission. Teaching approach 1. Articles and video clips will be used as materials for discussion and analysis. 2.
