Page to the Stage
Page to the Stage offers students an insight into the Shared Experience rehearsal
processes and staging techniques. Led by a Shared Experience Education
Associate, students will take part in an interactive lecture, observing members of
the cast of Bracken Moor undertaking rehearsal exercises and scene work, before
helping to stage a section of the production. They will then consider the
importance of lighting and sound in the final performance, hearing directly from
the theatre technicians who operate the production. Students will also take part
in a Q&A with the actors and technicians and some students will be invited onto
the stage to work directly with members of the Shared Experience team.
Shared Experience is a recommended practitioner on the AQA syllabus (Ref: AQA,
Drama and Theatre Studies, AS and A Level, 3:2, Unit 2, Presentation of an extract
from a play). Page to the Stage has been designed to support students in their
studies for this unit and is also suitable for GCSE groups.
