UNITED NATIONS INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR PERSONNEL UNDER INDIVIDUAL SERVICE AGREEMENT (ISA) Title: Main Duty Station and Location: Mission/s to: Start of Contract (EOD): End of Contract (COB): Driver Yerevan, Armenia Armenia 1 April 2015 31 December 2015, with possible extension through 2017 dependent on job performance ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT UNIDO is a specialized agency of the United Nations with the mandate to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition, among others in agro-industries. It has non-profit status. UNIDO has its own policy making organs, secretariat and 174 member states, and provides technical assistance services to developing countries by focusing on three thematic areas: 1) Poverty reduction through productive activities, 2) Trade capacity-building and 3) Energy and Environment. In its activities with member states, UNIDO actively promotes good governance and accountability. UNIDO follows financial rules and regulations based on international standards with a UN code of conduct, strict oversight system and electronic realtime financial monitoring. UNIDO has received certification of accounts and operations without exception. Armenia is a member state of UNIDO, and the organization has been implementing projects in the country since 2005. It is currently implementing technical assistance projects aimed at youth employment and SME development, investment promotion, upgrade and modernization of export-oriented industries, focused on textile and garment sectors; supporting innovation and clean technology start-up businesses, promotion of renewable energy resources, sustainable management of hazardous waste, protection of ozone layer and development of resource efficiency and cleaner production. The work of the Driver relates to the implementation of the project “ENPARD Technical Assistance: Producer Group and Value Chain Development” funded by the European Union under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development” (ENPARD) with additional contribution provided by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). PROJECT CONTEXT Under the EU-funded ENPARD Armenia programme UNIDO and UNDP are implementing a complementary support project entitled “ENPARD Technical Assistance: Producer Group and Value Chain Development” providing services to improve the capacity of farmers associations and cooperatives and to establish agricultural and non-agricultural pilot value chains contributing to the development of rural areas, development of improved agricultural inputs and production systems in particular for livestock, fruits and vegetables, improve access to local and international markets, and ensure introduction of environmentally friendly farming practices. The project is funded by the European Union, with additional contribution provided by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). MAIN DUTIES Providing transportation services. Expected duration Location continuous Yerevan, Project sites in the regions Provides transportation services for monitoring of the project activities. continuous Project sites in the regions Ensures and carries out the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, battery, car washing, etc. continuous Yerevan Completes the Daily Logbook of the vehicle after each trip, maintains records of drive logs of trips and mileage. continuous Country-wide Completely refills fuel tank at each refueling, requests gasoline money as needed; prepares a maintenance schedule for each vehicle annually; ensures the availability of a first aid kit. continuous Country-wide Prepares a maintenance schedule for each vehicle annually; sends the vehicle to an authorized motor mechanic according to the specified schedule. Carries out the duties according to the UNIDO official guidelines. Required qualifications Technical College Education, valid driver’s license BC. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations; skills in minor vehicle repair; A minimum of 3 years of experience in driving and logistics, preferably with international organizations/embassies; safe driving record; Sound Computer skills; Good interpersonal communication skills; Fluency in Armenian, good knowledge of English Knowledge of current economic situation of Armenia and experience in working with private, public or NGO sector is an asset.
