Title: Corporate Volunteer Manager Department: Volunteerism Reports to: Senior Director, Volunteerism Announcement: October 2015 ___________________________________________________________________________ Position Summary The Corporate Volunteer Manager position will implement the corporate volunteerism strategy, developing key relationships and managing the volunteer coordinator team. This position will ensure that the team is providing high quality volunteer activities for current and potential donors. It will increase United Way’s capacity to engage individuals, especially donors and prospective donors, effectively in the execution of corporate volunteer involvement to advance the work in our six community goals. Responsibilities Manage the Engagement Specialist team and build relationships on behalf of United Way with key corporate leaders and partners. Engage new donors in United Way’s work, solidify loyalty of existing donors, and increase dollars to United Way through the vehicle of corporate volunteer engagement. Align volunteer engagement goals and activities with those of the volunteerism department and organization. Create new corporate opportunities throughout United Way’s footprint. Essential Duties Implement department strategies and vision laid out by Senior Director to the specialist team. Lead all aspects of the corporate volunteer program to achieve the Volunteer Department’s mission and goals to include volunteer cultivation, solicitation and recognition, project development for corporations and community outreach to nonprofit organizations including United Way of Greater Atlanta grantees. Develop, guide and motivate the Engagement Specialist Team to focus on shared objectives of the Volunteerism Department. Establish new corporate relationships through the offering of quality volunteer opportunities, introducing them to our work and providing expertise and assistance on volunteer management. Ensure high quality volunteer management for all United Way of Greater Atlanta volunteer offerings, individually and by evaluating the Engagement Specialist Team and their projects. Provide leadership to current United Way of Greater Atlanta corporate partners to create strategies and programs that are beneficial for the community and the company, increase their employees’ engagement in volunteerism and link volunteers to ongoing United Way of Greater Atlanta initiatives. Facilitate volunteerism presentations to our corporate partners and new corporate businesses. Responsible for developing stronger relationships with key internal departments in order to increase our mutual knowledge and collaboration. Develop new agency relationships as it relates to volunteerism. Elevate the reputation of United Way of Greater Atlanta as a leader in volunteer engagement by sitting on external committees and creating partnerships with key nonprofits and corporations. Provide staff support to the Community Volunteer Manager with signature events, Shoebox and Project Overcoat. Partner with Community Volunteer Manager on large scale projects, serving as the relationship lead with the corporate partners during the planning process. Contribute to revenue by broadening the base of potential United Way of Greater Atlanta donors and deepening the engagement of current donors, through volunteerism. Oversee the county engagement initiative and manage the coordinators’ interaction with county staff and volunteers. Manage the data capture, input and tracking for the engagement specialist team, ensuring that all needed data is entered correctly into CRM. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required in social services, business, non-profit management or related field. Master’s Degree Preferred Minimum of 3 years’ experience in volunteer and/or program management. Experience in managing and coaching staff to achieve their highest level of work productivity Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, persistent in follow-up, meet tight deadlines and interact with all levels of personnel. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create meaningful relationships (inside and outside United Way of Greater Atlanta) Project management skills – proven ability to schedule, plan, track and complete complex projects on time. Financial and analytical skills. Familiarity with both non-profit sector and corporate environment Proven ability to collaborate and be successful working with cross-functional teams. Exceptional written and oral communication skills; must be comfortable making public presentations Ability to work with diverse groups, including staff, board members, donors, nonprofit organizations, volunteers and external stakeholders. Strong computer skills with expertise in Windows, Microsoft Office, and iOS, familiar with Andar 360 and Microsoft CRM a plus. Projects may include extensive standing, walking, bending and lifting of items 20+ pounds as well as exposure to elements. Work hours may vary each week.
