What are goods and services? What goods and services are provided locally and how are they paid? What is the difference between a consumer and a producer? Lesson Opener/Activating Strategy Students will watch a brain pop jr video on Goods and Services and Producers and Consumers. Then students will complete a Poplet on what is the difference between a good and service and a consumer and producer. Notes/Supplies The teacher will be teaching the following GPS Social Studies Standards; SS3E1,SS3E2,SS3E3,SS3E4 All notes will be taken in social studies journals. Procedures Instructional Strategies Students will be using Nearpod today to complete various activities on Consumers and Producers and Goods and Services. Students will also be completing ongoing Nearpod assessments on Georgia Habitats and a historical figures assessment. Students will also be participating in games on economic understandings. Differentiation Strategy Students will work in pairs to create a performance where one person is a producer and the other is a consumer. The teacher will use this performance as an assessment for understanding of taught material. Students will also imagine that they are a dollar bill and write about their journey as different people use it to buy and sell goods and services. Students will also be asked to explain the difference between a producer and consumer. Assessment Methods The teacher will use nearpod for assessments in class during the day. If nearpod is not available then the teacher will use today’s meet,poplet, and 3-2-1 questioning activities. The teacher will also be using Brain Pop Jr. assessments. Class will be creating a mini economy and will be applying for classroom jobs. We will have a guest speaker from the Clorox company on Monday afternoon. He will be speaking about STEM. Recycling project will be due on Friday.
