THE POWER OF DARKNESS 2
Colossians 1
12. Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in light:
13. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the
kingdom of his dear Son:
Proverbs 7
21. With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced
him.
22. He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the
stocks;
23. Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
24. Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
Genesis 4
8. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose
up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Genesis 4
25. And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath
appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
26. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to
call upon the name of the Lord.
Genesis 6
1. And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born
unto them,
2. That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of
all which they chose.
3. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall
be an hundred and twenty years.
4. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the
daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of
renown.
5. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of
the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

SAMSON
Judges 15
14. And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came
mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his
bands loosed from off his hands.
15. And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand
men therewith.
16. And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a
thousand men.
17. And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his
hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.
Judges 16
4. And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5. And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his
great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him;
and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
DAVID
1 Samuel 17
44. And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to
the beasts of the field.
45. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield:
but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
46. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee;
and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild
beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the
Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.
48. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David
hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
2 Samuel 11
2. And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the
king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful
to look upon.
2 Samuel 12
13. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said unto David, The
Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to
blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
SOLOMAN
1 Kings 10
4. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5. And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their
apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the Lord; there was no
more spirit in her.
6. And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy
wisdom.
7. Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not
told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
23. So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
24. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
1 Kings 11
1. But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the
Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:
2. Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them,
neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods:
Solomon clave unto these in love.
3. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned
away his heart.
THE DISCIPLES
Acts 4
16. Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is
manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17. But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak
henceforth to no man in this name.
18. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken
unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might
punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
Acts 4
29. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all
boldness they may speak thy word,
30. By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy
holy child Jesus.
31. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were
all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
THE DISCIPLES
Acts 8
1. And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against
the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea
and Samaria, except the apostles.
2. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3. As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women
committed them to prison.
4. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
2 Timothy 4
10. For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica;
Acts 20
29. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the
flock.
30. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to DRAW away disciples after
them.
31. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night
and day with tears.
JOSEPH
Genesis 37
18. And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to
slay him.
19. And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
20. Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil
beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
21. And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.
22. And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay
no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.
23. And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat,
his coat of many colours that was on him;
Genesis 39
7. And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said,
Lie with me.
8. But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in
the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9. There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee,
because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
10. And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie
by her, or to be with her.
JESUS
Matthew 2
13. And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying,
Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee
word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
Matthew 4
1. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Luke 22
52. Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to
him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
53. When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your
hour, and the power of darkness.

10. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation,
which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
