Return on or before the 1st day of tryouts to Mrs. Conley or Ms. Freeland. Documents to be returned: Teacher Evaluation should be return in the envelope with the seal signed. A parent needs to fill out Cheerleading Tryout Application. A copy of the most recent report card. All pages of the TSSAA physical form must be filled out and appropriate pages must be signed by parent and a doctor. Please place report card, teacher evaluation, tryout application, and current TSSAA physical in a large envelope and return on or before the first day of tryouts. If these forms are not returned on or before the first day of tryouts you will not be allowed to tryout for WBMS cheerleading. Return packet to cheerleading sponsors on or before first day of tryouts, April 10th. 2. Prior to actual tryout, there will be two tryout clinic sessions held on April 10th and 11th in the WBMS gymnasium from 3:15-5:00. Each candidate should wear appropriate shorts, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt with hair in ponytail. 3. Tryout Dates & Times: Wednesday April 10th: Tryout Clinic Day 1- 3:15-5:00 Thursday April 11th: Tryout Clinic Day 2- 3:15-5:00 Friday April 12th: Actual Tryouts- 3:15-?? 4. No parents/ friends will be allowed to watch the clinics, and/ or tryouts. No exceptions. 5. Tryouts will be held Friday afternoon, April 12th. Coaches will contact girls who make the squad shortly after tryouts on Friday night. 6. For those making the squad, practices will start Monday April 15th, from 3:00-5:00. There will be also be a mandatory Parent Meeting Monday April 22nd at 5:15 pm at WBMS, which is required for all who make the squad as well. Tryout Performance will include the following: Cheer (spirit, technique, sharpness, voice) Sideline Dance (rhythm and coordination) Jumps (height, flexibility, and technique) Tumbling Teacher’s evaluation Dear Cheerleading Candidate and parent, WBMS cheerleading is a large time, academic, and financial obligations. We encourage you to review over the obligations and make sure you and your child are willing to meet these obligations. Financial Obligations: New members of WBMS cheerleading-$500 Returning WBMS cheerleader-$300 These costs will cover Camp, Camp Clothes, Shoes, Ribbons/bows, Briefs/Bloomers, Bodysuit, Warmup, Bag, Uniform cleaning/rental fee, Transportation, and other things that might arise. But the squad will ride the bus to far away basketball games. Academic Obligations: Student must keep a C average at all times. No F’s on progress reports or report cards. Progress reports and report cards will be check when received. Conduct must be at a Satistafory level at all times! We are leaders in the school and expect all WBMS cheerleaders to be examples for their peers.
