ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: Provide regional leadership for continuous improvement resulting in productivity gains from doing it right the first time Perform tasks within and support development of Performance System Ensure that site(s) are in compliance with corporate quality requirements Ensure that testing standards, procedures, and equipment provide reliable results and prevent shipment of off-quality products Ensure control plans are in place and adequate at plants within the region Train, mentor and develop plant personnel in the application of Quality tools (SPC, DOE, Centerlining Process, Control Plans, Problem Solving, etc.) Lead problem-solving and process improvement processes with manufacturing and the customer to achieve resolution and elimination of current product issues Audit company and supplier sites for compliance to national standards for sanitation, product safety, and quality systems Ensure that sites meet external requirements of customers and regulatory agencies Provide for successful new product launches by ensuring clear specification development, process capability definition, and attainment of customer satisfaction on initial shipments Other duties as assigned by Director COMPETENCIES: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Discipline 7+ years’ experience Understands and Leads Safe Work Practices Understands quality systems and requirements, including ISO Self-motivated and empower others to achieve high levels of performance Converts information into action and improves company performance Understands major aspects of production that meet customer requirements Can teach and mentor others in the fundamentals of problem-solving and accurate use of Quality tools Strong Knowledge of statistics, SPC and six sigma Metrology and gage R&R experience HACCP and GMP Able to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines Influencing skills Excellent computer skills Problem solving and root cause analysis Understands the role of Quality in a manufacturing organization Able to travel up to 75% within assigned region "PLUSES" (nice to have, but not required): Food Safety/Food Science background or industrial engineering background Be able to mediate between plant facility and customer base PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
