Quest Directions
Signing Up for Your Account

Go to https://quest.cns.utexas.edu/student/main

Click on the link in the upper right that says “Log In to Quest”

Underneath the “Log In” button, click on the second link that says
“I need a UT EID.”

Click “Continue”

Answer the four yes/no questions

Fill in the information asked for on the screen. At minimum, you
must fill in:
o your first and last name (that is how I will identify you in
the class)
o birthdate
o email address (use your ISS email address)

Choose the three password retrieval questions you want and type
the appropriate answers

Choose your password, following the directions on the screen

You will get an email with your UT EID at the email address you
provided. Check it, then sign in.
o Go back to https://quest.cns.utexas.edu/student/main
o Click on the top right link that says “Log In to Quest”
o Bookmark this page so you can get back to it easily
o Use the UT EID that was just emailed to you (your UT EID
will probably have some crazy number on it, so write it down
or allow your computer to remember it to make future signins easier)
o Use the password you created
o Click the orange “Log In” button

On the left, click on the link that says “Enroll in new course”

In the box that says Unique #, enter the number 6152

Click the button that says “Lookup course info”


You should see the information above

Click on the orange button that says “Request enrollment”


You will see a yellow message at the top that says your instructor
is processing your request.

You’re done with the enrollment process.
Using Quest
Once you’re signed up, when you log in you will see a screen that looks
like this:
Click on this course, and you will see a list of assignments.
Due dates will appear in bold orange. Click on the assignment you need to
complete and when it opens, you should see a screen that looks similar to
this.
The questions will be on the left, and the place for you to select your
answers is on the right. If you choose an answer and get it wrong, you
can still try again. However, you lose points everytime you have to
resubmit an answer. You will receive immediate feedback for each answer.
Once you have submitted your answers to each question, you will see blue
check marks beside all of them, and you are finished. To double check,
simply go back to the assignment page, and you will see a blue check mark
beside the name of the assignment if you finished answering all of the
questions. You will also see your grade and the class average displayed
beside completed assignments.
