PART 2. INFORMATION ON PROGRAMMES
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
qualification awarded
Graduates who have achieved the expected
learning outcomes included in the study programs
are awarded qualifications and certified by a
diploma.
In addition, the graduate achieves professional
qualifications in accordance with the completed
field of study and specialization.
level of qualification
Graduates meet one of the following levels of
qualification which is compatible with the European
Qualification Framework (EQF):
- level 6 - conferred on the first degree
graduates: “licencjat” or “inżynier”;
- level 7 - conferred on the second degree
graduates: “magister” or “magister inżynier”;
- level 8 - conferred on the third degree
graduates: “doctor”.

specific admission requirements
Intramural studies first degree - the classification
takes place based on the enrolment on the basis of
marks in school-leaving certificates of the maturity.
Intramural studies second degree - graduates of the
college of the first degree can apply for second
degree. An average of the university graduation of
the first degree is deciding on qualifying.
Extramural studies first and second degree - an
order of filing documents for using the limit of
places up is deciding on qualifying.

prior learning (formal, non-formal,
informal)
Student’s transfer of record, hereinafter referred to
as "transfer activities", allows him/her to continue
learning study unit at a university to which the
student transfers, “host unit”.
Moving activities are subject to the conditions set in
the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher
Education dated 14 September 2011 on conditions
and procedures for handling classified by the
student activities (Journal of Laws of 2011 r. nr 201,
pos. 1187)

regulations
Consistent with regulation by Minister of Science
and Higher Education dated 5 October, 2011
concerning conditions for conducting studies in a
certain direction and level of education (J. o L. no
243 pos. 1445). Regulation sets out the various
cycle of studies, graduate qualifications and future
competence and defines the requirements for the
candidates of the second degree.

Handing over to students the concerning knowledge
is the fundamental assumption of educating the
first degree on studies the dimension of the outside
state security and international commitments

examination regulations, assessment and
grading
Subjects are completed by either award of a credit
or by examination. Marks are recorded in the
student’s record book and comments added by the
academic teacher responsible according to the
specific provisions of the Regulations of Study at
the Naval Academy of the Heroes of Westerplatte in
Gdynia.
Examinations and assessment are reflected in the
following grading scale: very good - 5.0 (very good),
more than good - 4.5 (db +) good - 4.0 (db),
satisfactory - 3.5 (dst +) ; sufficient - 3.0 (dst);
inadequate - 2.0 (ndst). Detailed grading system
reflects chapters VI - VII of the aforementioned
regulations.
graduation requirements
In order to obtain the HEI degrees, a student is
required to complete all course units and practical
placements included in a syllabus, to submit and
defend a thesis, and to pass successfully the final
examination in front of the thesis committee.
Specific requirements for submission and review of
the diploma exam are contained in chapters VII – X
of the aforementioned Regulations.
