Lead. 1 Step One: Recognize Step Two: Respond Step Three: Rest Step Four: Repeat 2 Step One: Recognize God is King and Savior His love is unalterable All ministry is done onto Him Mission Statement Our mission together is to ground our students in the foundations of the Holy Scriptures to have an ever-increasing high view of God, to nourish them to yield lifestyles of the fruits of the Spirit and from this shine the love and light of the Gospel of Christ to their community and world. The Scriptures consist of the Old and New Testament and are God’s perfect and authoritative words to us. 4. Man is born with a nature of sin that separates him from God 5. Jesus Christ is God, manifested in human flesh and lived without sin. 6. Jesus Christ’s blood paid the full payment of sin. 7. Through accepting his sacrifice in full confession/repentance of our sin and faith in his payment, we are brought back into right relationship with God both now and foevermore. 8. The Holy Spirit of Christ comes to live within us and is the seal and helper. 9. Through Christ alone man can have eternal salvation, redemption of their souls. 3 Step Two: Respond Walk before God uprightly Obey the Holy Spirit immediately Proclaim Jesus boldly This is a ministry of God Working through His church, His means of spreading His gospel. Lifestyle Standards Be in daily and constant communion with God, through personal times of devotion and study. Be sensitive to and immediately repentant of sins, seeking restoration back to God and others. Be in prayer for your students. Caring deeply and primarily for your own family. Never be alone with a student of the opposite gender (this includes but is not exhaustive of car rides, event set-up/tear down, or emotional breakdowns.) Memorize Scripture on a consistent basis Respect authority (if any issue with head or co-leaders address promply with that individual in private/ do not talk with other leaders.) 4 During events and services o Acknowledge all students (especially aware of new/outcasted students) o Be 5 minutes early to each event o Know the names of your students o Study the lesson before arrival o Pray for event on the way to event o Make every moment a teachable moment o Stay honorable/set the standard of expectation behaviorally o Have fun!!!!!! Interaction between genders o Never be alone with the opposite gender (meetings/events) o Never hold accountability times with the opposite gender. o Live above reproach and ask for keen accountability from others. o Set out clear and reasonable standards and make them known. Interaction between the leaders o Pray for one another o Give words of encouragement o Spur one another towards loving all students o Interact with all leaders o Set an example with opposite gender interactions o Share Scriptures and correct one another in love. o Bind together in one heart and mind. Remember: What you do onto the least, you do unto God (Matthew 25:40) 5 Step Three: Rest Pray Praise Purify Let not ministry become your god. Protect your time alone with God. Never end a day without having been on your knees at least once. Write down different requests the moment you hear them Follow up on requests Never let your prayer time become only request based. Take days off. Serve the students on a consistent and selfless bases Do not over-commit Spend days for family only Be filled so that you may pour Rise early to dedicated your heart and day to the Lord Attend church service (sit with family if possible) Talk with others about sermon and lessons you are learning. Memorize and repeat Scripture. Plug into events and books that keep you learning. 6 Step Four: Repeat Never give up. Never grow weary in doing good. Never forget who its for. As the ministry continues its becomes easy to tire. Remember the power of Christ in our perseverance. Repeat the study of Scripture Repeat the repentance Repeat the acts of love Repeat the thanksgiving And Repeat the act of discipleship onto full maturity Until all become Disciples of Christ And they too repeat and make disciples Who make disciples. Physical Harm Suicide: Address the student and parent immediately and directly. Let the Head Pastor know as well. If immediate danger, call 911. Abuse: If sexual abuse: Address issue immediately, report it to authorities and police (if necessary). If emotional: Work with the student to find them Biblical counseling to better handle the deep issues. (if suitable: involve family) Drugs/ Alcohol: Confirm student’s activities and call parents with the information given. Offer to sit down with the student and/or parent for further guidance/healing. 2. Building/ Activity Danger: Suspicious Persons: Approach person aside from students (if possible and safe). If not call Pastor to analyze. If endangered or confirmed threat call 911. Fire/ Weather: Fire: exit all students immediately from area ensuring safety and call fire department Weather: follow protocol for distinct storm. *Each student and situation is highly fragile and needs to be dealt with discernment and delicacy.
