<http://www.youngestwitnesses.com/>. The "Youngest Witnesses September 11
Attacks" website is a project that documented the thoughts and feelings of a group of
young children, ages three to five, who directly witnessed the destruction of the World
Trade Center. Through interviews of the children and their parents, and pictures taken by
the widely published photojournalist Gabe Kirchhimer, Loyan Beausoleil has shown how
each child has been deeply affected by the 9/11 attack. These effects range from posttraumatic stress disorder and phobias, to the loss of a sense of security and peace. Seeing
the pictures and interviews displayed on the website brings people to the realization that
even the children understand the severe sorrow and trauma of 9/11.

2011. Web. 15 May 2013. <http://harpers.org/blog/2011/09/the-911-effect/>. In his
editorial, Scott Horton explains the effects the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 had
on the four prime institutions of American military, intelligence, and justice. Horton
mainly describes the corruption and disorganization within the Military, the Central
Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, and the Justice Department. With
reflections on Barack Obama's views and differences from when he was a senator to
when he became the president, Horton concludes that 9/11 is a major event that has only
strengthened the exploitation and disarray within the leaders and agencies in charge of
the protection of America and its people.
