STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has
greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if
you do what I command you. John 15: 12-14

SAINTS AND SINNERS BORE MUCH FRUIT
Through the efforts of the Saints and Sinners Committees and participation by
parishioners like you, we are pleased to report that this year’s Saints and Sinners
Dance and Dinner was a success. The Silent, Chinese and Live Auctions and
reservations generated $17,712. Combined with other fundraising events and efforts
throughout the year, that brings Fundraising to a total of $21,065, which covers
budgeted commitments within our Outreach programs.
Thank you all for your help in ways big and small!
Together, we do make a difference.

2ND ANNUAL CALVARY CRAFTER’S FAIR
Come out and shop the stalls of handmade goods from area artisans December
6th, 10 am until 4 pm in Calvary’s Hughson Hall.
You may recognize some of the vendors! Others round out the 20-25 booths
filled with goods that may help you with your Christmas shopping.
And stop by the one-a-year restaurant, the Calvary Café, to enjoy a lunch of hot
soups and chili, homemade sandwiches, cookies, hot chocolate and warm,
mulled cider.
The Calvary Craft Fair is a fundraiser for our Outreach efforts. Bring your
friends and neighbors for a stroll through this annual tradition! And support a
good cause.

students at any undergraduate level at Niagara University and to high school

January annual meeting currently held by Vestrypersons Becky Welte, Ellie Yuhasz,
Melinda Rath-Sanderson and Warden Bruce Davidson. Should you wish to nominate

CALVARY KNITTERS- Happy Knitting!
We are requesting warm, hand-knitted hats, gloves/mitten and scarves from our
talented Calvary knitters.
Each Christmas the Outreach Committee prepares gift bags for single, adult
refugees (both males and females) who are spending their first winter in Western
New York.
There is a supply of yarn available in the white cabinet in the reception room.
This year we will be presenting gift bags to 52 individuals, so we need as many
gloves/mittens, hats and scarves as you can produce.
If you don’t knit, we will also accept (new) store bought hats, scarves and
mittens/gloves.
Please leave finished items at the reception desk
addressed to Janet Mather by Friday, December 5.
Questions: Please call Janet at 839-1309 (mather@buffalo.edu).

HELPING HANDS:
Tis the seasons when helping hands are needed. Do you enjoy talking to Elders?
Baking cookies? Singing Christmas Carols? If you answered yes to any of these
questions then we can use your helping hands at Hansen House.
Bakers please bake an extra batch. It has been the tradition of this ministry to spread
the joy of the season by having Santa distribute cookie boxes to the other homes at
Beechwood who have not been adopted by a local church. If you can make an extra
batch of cookies and bring them to Calvary the afternoon of Dec. 19 please sign up in
the Reception Room during coffee hour.
On December 20 we will be holding our annual Family Christmas Luncheon for the
families of Hansen House. We need helping hands to serve the meal, sing Christmas
songs, distribute cookie boxes to the other houses at Beechwood and to interact with
the families of Hansen House residents. If you would like to help at this luncheon
please contact Karen Davidson at 689-4708.
