Basic concepts; planning and auditing requirements; Project steps; Project feasibility studies and
cost-benefit analysis; Project monitoring and reporting; Budgeting; Projects Teams and Project
Managements; Dependence between projects; Project Management Tools, CPM-PERT and
Gannt Charts; Applications.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Understand the modern project management and the

Evaluation: Your final grade will be based on the following:

(5) Final Exam 40%
Project Delivearbles: Assignments will be turned for grading. Late assignments will not be
considered.
Tests: The two semester tests will be administered during the lecture period on the day indicated
in the schedule. You are responsible for the material up to the day of the test. During each test
you are allowed to use a calculator and one 8½" x 11" sheet of paper with anything you want
written on the paper (you can use both sides of the sheet of paper). You will have approximately
80 minutes to complete each test.
Quiz: These are short exams and will be done at the beginning or at the end of the lecture. Dates
will be announced in schedule.
Final Exam: The day and time will be announced. Final exam will be comprehensive and during
the exam you are allowed to use a calculator and a sheet of two sided paper.
Project: The purpose of the semester project is to give the student an opportunity to come up
with a real project. The project will be conducted in groups of 3-4. There are two ways in
establishing a project. Students will define a project, plan, apply all the project management
steps, schedule the project and use CPM or PERT, schedule resources and costs, monitor and
close the project.There are various elements of the project that must be submitted throughout the
semester. Early in the semester you must submit an initial and final project proposal. The
proposals should include a brief description of the problem, a set of objectives, and an outline of
the steps to be followed. The project should culminate in a written report and a 5 to 10 minute
presentation. The format for the written report should follow a format similar in structure to the
sample report that I will provide. Due dates for all project elements are given in the attached
schedule. Remember that this is a semester project, so start early!
Homework: Homework will not be turned in but you are responsible in exams.

SCHEDULE
Please note that the topic schedule is only a guide, sometimes we will spend more time on one topic and less on
another. The tests and final exam times will occur on the dates listed, however, content of these exams may be
altered based on the material covered prior to exam time.
