Constitution Day Activities for September 17, 2013 Possible Morning Announcement: Today in public classrooms throughout the United States, students will learn about The Constitution of the United States of America. The Constitution of the United States was created at the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With James Madison's great note-taking skills, this document was approved by the required nine states in June of 1788. The Constitution of the United States began to officially function in 1789. The Constitution of the United States is a very important written document. It is the supreme law of the United States. No other law, state constitution, federal legislation, or executive order can conflict, or disagree, with it.
