Project Plan (50 pts) due _____________
I will keep track of absences. Any individual absent will have -15 points per day missed (that’s a letter grade per day)
from the group’s grade for their individual grade unless the absence has had prior approval from Mrs. Glisson or it is an
excused absence (student activity, doctor’s note, death in family, etc).
Project Rubric (180 pts)
Your group will be creating a life size skeleton.
80 points The following 40 bones should be labeled: (DO NOT double label things!!!)

(11) Skull, Parietal, Frontal, Temporal, Occipital, (make sure the sutures are drawn on the skull so the bones are
separated) Mandible, Maxilla, Zygomatic, Nasal, Mental Foramen, External acoustic meatus

(8) Ribs, Xiphoid process, Sternum, Sacrum, Coccyx, Cervical vertebrae, Thoracic vertebrae, Lumbar vertebrae

(8) Scapula, Clavicle, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Carpals, Metacarpals, Phalanges

(10) Illium, Pubic bone, Ischium, Femur, Tibia, Fibula, Patella, Tarsals, Metatarsals, Phalanges

(3) Label 1 long bone with Diaphysis, Proximal Epiphysis, Distal Epiphysis
The skeleton will be front view and found on page 144. I recommend putting the skull in a profile type view for labeling.
Neatness is 25 pts
The skeleton must be life sized, have a name (15 points) , have some creativity/theme (25 pts), and be drawn (NO STICK
BONES ALLOWED!!!!!) and labeled correctly.
The Axial and Appendicular Skeleton must be COLOR CODED!!!!! (So I should see a key). 20 points
15 pts total-(5 pts each-3 people or 7.5 each-2 people) Group participants names on bottom of paper
I will provide paper, markers and time in class to work on this. Any other supplies will be provided by the students. The
days you will have class time to work are:___________________.
The final project must be hanging in the hallway (downstairs Bldg. 3) by 4:00pm on _____________________.
